So to top off an already insanely bad day at work at with family-situation, it seems life wanted to kick one last boot of sand to my face for good measure :(

It seems the rest of the bumper is fine, but this (front driver-side wheel well) chunk that's hanging off seems to indicate that i'll be needing a new bumper cover. Is my assumption correct, and if so, how much am I looking at for a new one? Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

dude...thats such a small defect.... you dont need to go throwing out good money for a new bumper because of this. pay for a professional repair, they will probably bondo it up and repaint to match for much cheaper than a new bumper

Didn't know if that was possible - I was asking whether my assumption was correct or not. But thank you for chiming in!

Yeah there's no need for a new bumper , if it bothers you , you could find a lip that covers that

I can very clearly recognize that is a bumper... Not to mention you could fix that in 30 seconds with some bondo + touchoup paint. If that is the worst damage on your car you're very lucky.... I have worse damage on my glove box from my gf's purse lol
Daily driving a car will get you all kinds of scratches, dents and chips all over the place. That's life.

No need for a new bumper. Just bring it to a body shop and ask for a quote. It will look good as new hopefully.
What year is your car? 2013?

So after reading this i have come to the conclusion that either
a) the previous owner of my car tried to move some very large and solid object of sorts ( like a long piece of wood) in the car ( without any cushioning) resulting in the scratches on the glovebox cover.
or
b) he was a ladies man and those scratches are from the purses of all the girls he has scored.

Oh god every thread is being bombarded with these kinds of posts....
So sorry for starting it..
But really if I were you I would ignore it. I've had some nasty scrapes on my front bumper as well as a billion stone chips... I was going to fill them up with TouchUp paint but the result would look even worse

heh ok well that I can understand I've been driving for 13 years and I got hit for my first time in a parking lot weeks after I bought my speed. (and I had parked at the back of an empty lot??)
But in your case the damage is very localized and easy to fix. No need to panic.
