My 2 worst`s cars were a Mazda Protege 99 MT, and Jeep Tj 2000 MT

I bought that Protege, when I was 18 and knew nothing about cars from a young guy who obviously didn`t take care of it, I didn`t even try to negociate with the seller, didn`t send the car for a mechanic inspection. All I did is give my money to the guy and leave with the car (I live in Quebec,Canada) So we don't need to do inspections on cars when we buy used. A few days later I noticed red fluid leaking from car, told myself bahh its probably nothing. Guess what, 3 months later transmission broke down. Had to replace it and replaced the clutch as well, plus 1 ball-joint and a few other things, cost me around 3000 $ for a car that I already overpaid. Going down with that, the seller sold me the car with almost worn out tires, again I didn't even check the tires when I bought the car.
So anyways, in a year probably 8000 $ went in that car in total, around 4000 in repairs and 4000 for the car.

Second one, wasnt that long ago, was my Jeep TJ 2000 MT, that I still own. Seller was asking 4000, the Jeep was having power issues so I thought It was something to do with the Cap and Rotor, so Anyways, I was able to take it down to 2200 $, I was laughing in my hat, Wow a Jeep Tj with almost brand new tires, no rust and probably a minor problem for just 2200 what a dumb seller! Guess what?! changed the rotor and cap, changed plugs and plug wires. Didn't fix anything. On top of that I had to replace a starter and finally the fuel pump to fix that power issue! So anyways, im on the highway right, telling myself alright I fixed the problem everything's fine... NO! Check engine light started flashing and then Jeep turned off. Blew my ****ing engine!
So anyways, I had a good deal for 2200, but in 3 months, I put another 3000 K in that Jeep, so turns out my Jeep is a 5500 ish 2000 TJ , not a 2200 $ Jeep!

My hits, short story's for my hits.

First is a Pontiac sunfire MT, bought that for 300 $ drove it like crazy for a few months and sold it back 3 months later, without investing one single penny in it for 650$, Not bad for a crappy car.

Second is a 95 4Runner MT, I bought for 800 $, all I changed in 2 years was a few brake lines and a slave cylinder, I did everything with that SUV, Stalled it in water,Got stuck in Mud, Jumped it, EVERYTHING. In the end I sold it to a friend for a few bucks He drove it around for a few months and worsened it out, then sold it for 200 $ to some guy and that was it for that truck.

third and last, I bought a Mazda protege 5 MT, for 500 $ with brand new tires and touch screen radio, low milleage and nothing to repair. That was a good buy!

I don't really understand.. you're calling the protege a miss because you neglected it even though you clearly saw a leak. Also all your cars you got for $3k and under, seems like a gamble with any car. You also call the pontiac a hit but had it for only three months.

I forgot to add that I had that leak ''repaired'' I don't remember what my mechanic did, Did he change the seal or just tighten down the bolt, I will never know. All I know is I got probably over-charged for the repair, but after that My tranny broke down! (few months after that)

The Sunfire was a hit for me because, when I bought the car I knew it wasnt going to last long. I sold it double what I paid for it and I had more than one buyer!

Were all of these DD? I have bought volvos for 300$, then cut the roofs off for use on a farm. They were good cars which lasted a year or so, then you find a new one.
Also If your transmission is leaking, and breaks 3 months later; don't be surprised.

But now I have a MZ3 GT 2010, I have a good DD car !
And I've gotten pretty good with experience in car mechanic!
