I was looking on corksports exhaust and it says add $80 for racepipe and $280 for racepipe + high flow catlyst. What is a racepipe and what are the differences between that and nothing? Thanks

u don't need the highflow cat option. just racepipe is fine.
racepipe removes the 2nd catlyst under your car.

If u go with racepipe your car will sound x2 louder

I have the corksport exhaust with racepipe(aftermarket).

If your interested i have a extra corksport racepipe unused i am selling. could meet and show u exhaust if your in my area

I figured that but on the CS website I can't find where you can buy just the race pipe for the MZ3 so I don't know how he'd have an extra one.

Not to much without racepipe, removing the 2nd catalyst will allow more flow/air into your exhaust. Meaning there will be no restrictions. Giving you the louder deeper sound also.

The CS race pipe and the CS high flow cat/race pipe are the same noise level. Loud as ****. I had both on my 10 sedan 2.5l. Their is another thread here somewhere where the same discussion has taken place. You will not notice any power gains. However the exhaust and intake on my 10 2.5 sedan did get significant better fuel mileage

I noticed quite a bit of power gain for sure. CS even did a dyno test and got gain up in 15-20hp and torque, also the gains are larger on the 2.5 then the 2.0 of course

I seriously doubt an intake and full exhaust will net 20 HP on the Mazda 4-cylinder...

Here is CS test http://www.corksport.com/blog/2010-mazda3-intake-exhaust-test-results/

The big gains are with the 2.5... 20+ torque and 15 HP around easy. I have the 2.5 i know

with the 2.0 your barley going to get any gains at all

• Peak HP & Torque: Stock 158/161, and the intake and exhaust built 171hp and 171ft lb. of torque.

Here's what I've found.
Mind you, this is with 2 people in the car, full of groceries on winter tires.

Not to highjack the thread but how much louder would the car be with a racepipe and a muffler delete? I have the later right now. Would a racepipe alone be as load as no muffler?

Racepipe and no muffler would sound pretty bad.
Just get a complete exhaust instead of trying to use 2 stock resonators as your exhaust note
