I have an 05 hatchback 3. Was driving home the other night when the stereo cut out then came back on after a few seconds. Minutes later while making a turn, all my electrical in the car flickered on and off causing the cluster to turn all the lights on as if the car had just been started but didn't stall. Got to my driveway and turned to reverse park and the car died. Started again no problem and went away for a couple days. Then today on my way home from school while on the 400, the whole cars electrical flickered again, but didn't lose power, but my power steering light came on but i muscled through it to get off at my ramp. after getting off the highway the light went away and power steering was fine. Googled the problem and saw some similar issues but found no resolve. Any clues here? I'm stumped. Only thing that seems constant is it happens when turning

I'd start by checking the battery then move to check the grounding strap.

Any idea how many there are?

when i changed my battery, the negative terminal would be a tiny bit loose because it was slightly off size. this would cause some of my electrical to flicker a a bit and my radio would shut off and come back on. i ended up using a battery shim to make things snug, havnt had the problem since.

so in your case, it might be a loose ground/terminal as sonicboy mentioned above.
