What is this black box?

I bought used Mazda3 seats and the passenger seat seems modified. It has extra rails attached to it and this black box. Don't want to seem stupid but what's this box for?

Weight sensor box for the air bags?

Edit: Part number comes up as weight sensor control box. The smaller boxes are the sensors themselves.

AOS sensor, likely. We used to call them Ass on Seat sensor, not sure if that actually is the name but it fits
