Went for a trip home over holidays. Sudbury. Roads are soooo bad there it's insane. I've no idea how ppl live there with lowered cars. My car is extremely stiff, the roads made me feel like I was gonna blow a kidney.
Anyway. That being said.
Now back home. Got a clunkity in the back passenger side. Took it all apart last night. Tightened rear sway link (they're only 4mo old). Made sure shock "hat" is tight. Made sure lca bolt is tight. Everything WAS tight. With car jacked up. I put wheel back on and pulled up and released the wheel (to try to simulate suspension travel) and I can actually feel the very slight clunk. It feels like it's at the top of the shock. So I remove the shock hat to ensure the bolt on top (nut on shock to shock hat), is tight. I didn't feel any travel or feel it was loose. So I just buttoned it all up and called it an evening.
Scratching my head about this one.
Only other thing I'm thinking is lca bushing?? But why does it feel like its happening near the top shock hat??

I had it all apart in September to install the coilovers. New eurothane sway bar bushings. New links.
Any thoughts?
Trying to just hold out till warmer weather. I just don't want to destroy anything before that warmer weather actually gets here.

Going to replace upper shock mount this afternoon. I have this feeling the rubber has deteriorated. The clunk has turned to more of a rattling

Bro.. be careful w/ the upper shock mount lol.. if the bolt breaks and you don't have a grinder, you're going to be f'ed until you can find one.

Get a handheld torch and heat the bolt before removing it to avoid any breakage.. spraying it with WD/40 or anything of that sort won't really do much for you..

I've broken 2 of the 4 rear shock bolts so I know from experience that they are cheap.. I replaced them with 5/16" bolts but it took two people to secure them into place.

Successful with the replacement of the upper shock mount. This was the culprit. However..... Now appears my hatch latch isn't holding so tight anymore. Going to have to try to adjust that.
And to top it all off.
Drivers side rear caliper seized up.
HATE working on car in winter.
