I was in an accident last night; my poor mazda is totalled, luckily i walked away without a scratch.
So.. I'm just keeping an eye out for a first gen 3 or speed3
Anyone know where i can get a good deal on one or if they find one let me know please!
Going to the body shop after work today to see how bad the damage really is :(

Ghost1 I was driving home last night, and my car hit black ice or something so i lost control of the car went head on into a light pole, pole fell on top of my car then rolled off then went right into a huge snow bank off of the road. pretty scary but I'm fine, just a bit bruised up.

I found my car for a really good price on Kijiji, I found better deals with buying private from someone. I know its more risk, and harder in winter, but I just didn't have any good experiences at any of the dealerships.

yeah autotraders great too! Just be cautious with the rust, make sure before you go to tell them to clean off the snow and everything so you can really see it (and possible or pre-existing rust), rather than you showing up and they have 5 ft of snow piled up on it. Sounds like common sense, but i swear half the cars i went to see in the fall, when i got there the car looked like it had gone off road'ing...
also look farther away too! i got a great deal on mine but it was an hour and a half away, most people don't want to drive all that way, so usually cars can be less expensive

I said my final farewells to my car the other day. I cried... a lot. It really is heartbreaking.

But everything happens for a reason and you will find soemthing you like again. It will take time to move on, i'm still not happy and over it. Already picked up something new (to me). It will take some getting used to but once summer comes you will feel better :)

No no definitely not a girl thing... When my old Optra got towed away for the last time knowing it was a write off...I actually cried a bit... Was my first car and I loved it... Then I went to the place it was being stored for the adjusters to come take a look at so I could remove my aftermarket sound system... And leaving it knowing that was the last time I would ever see or touch it was very hard to bear... Call me crazy but I loved that car... And I feel that way or even stronger for my Mazda...because this time I have paid for everything myself and chose it and got financed for it.

Hey now don't be judgy...it was my first car :P and I didn't have any problems with it...it was super reliable and didn't have many major problems with it at all (other than the ones I caused when I took it for a swim in a ditch with 5feet of water the first time I drove it...on my 19th birthday :bang)

I see people all around with Optras and no one I have talked to have many problems with them most people like them.

Here check out this place this is where I got my car from (the Barrie location) and I had a pretty good experience.

They have a bunch like 5 or 6 around the $9000-10,000 sedans and all with less mileage than those others...

I know but im really specific.
i want a gt model, so leather seats, sunroof and fog lights are a must!
first gen only and i dont really care about the km's its the condition of body i look at (no rust, etc)

Your insurance rates are going to go up a lot when your policy renews. If you're buying a car that's new enough to need full coverage on it, you're going to have to pay quite a bit to keep your car on the road.

This is true I but it isn't too astronomical. If you need a car for a job I wouldn't worry too much. Especially if this is your first accident.

I am 24 turning 25 in April, and I have had 3 accidents (1 at fault, 1 not at fault write off, and 1 that I am not really sure who is at fault...probably I was as the cop gave me a careless driving ticket to appease the woman who was bitching about me hitting her brand new car...but he told me to fight it because he wouldn't show up. He thought it was just the weather conditions)

after your first it shouldn't be too bad. But for sure talk to Cloudpump about some numbers he will for sure be able to give you a good idea.

lol sorry that is what I am finding...trying the places I know of that are semi reliable and looking for a first gen GT is hard :P blue just happened to be what I found lol :P Personally I am not a fan of that blue and wouldn't have gone with it...my blue however is awesome and rare :P

no no, it is a stock mazda colour but it isn't very common, I think we have maybe 2 or 3 on the forum and I have only ever seen my colour on other 3s like 5 times ever, and ironically on a mazda 5 that a guy I work with owns,

It isn't the typical blue like the ones I posted here

Sorry to hear about the Mazda :(. But like everyone has said at least your alright even if the car is a total loss. Reminds me of when I got into an accident with mine and then got a rental 3 and I wrote it off going into the ditch. I remember thinking it coulda been my car. But then again I'd break out in tears if I wrote mine off (coming up on 7 years of owning it) but also be aware of insurance. After I had my accidents I was paying about 603 a month. And that GT will cost you more then a GS will unfortunately. But good luck and in Guelph there are alooot of used car dealerships. Check out Mark Wilson's. Always hear good things about them.

lol I try, I understand her need to get a car quick and since it is a rush she can't fully check everything on her own...If something happened to my car and I needed a new one, I would be desperate to find a new one quickly too. Never hurts to have someone else looking through different channels than you!

I would also be quite picky if something happened to mine. Because nothing would quite live up to it. (accept maybe a speed3 or a WRX :P)

lol I have actually also just found a lot more and about 5 speeds that are cheaper than that other one...I found one in North York for 11,000 however if you were considering that one I would take one of the experienced speed guys with you. If you want I can continue putting links here or PM them to you as I find things...whichever you prefer...I just don't want the Mods thinking I am whoring it up in here.

That was actually alot easier lol i had my M1 but it expired before i got the chance to get my M2 so i didnt end up buying a bike but they were willing to help me buy one.. figure that out lol
My car right now is at a shop just sitting there, its a write off and i had no collision on it. So wont be getting any money for it. I'm just taking what i need from it and thats that.
Tomorrow im going Mazda shopping lol

So, i made the decision to just buy another mazda like mine.
