Hi,
I am looking into getting this set up for my gen2 hatch. My question is will the h&r springs drop me lower than pro kits? There is a really good deal on koni right now as it 25% off.
I really dont want any rubbing and have to roll fenders. I will be running:
225.45.17 V12's
17x8 TSW Nurburgring
+35
Any input or suggestions would be awesome :)
I could be mistaken, but I think the H&R springs are a bit more of a drop than Prokits - something like 1.5"-2"? Not positive on this.
But assuming worst case (2"), I highly doubt you'd have any rubbing issues or anything with the wheel/tire specs you've put up.

I'm reading two different drops lol. The koni site states 30mm front and back which is roughly 1.2inches lol. And im also reading 1.5-2 inches.

The springs won't settle the same everytime. Wort case you can get different springs, or go coilovers

i dont want to do coilovers as you have to get top quality coils or you'll run into issues down the road. ive heard too many bc issues and those new arent the cheapest.
Im just concerned about rubbing with my current set up.

I think you should be fine. Post all the specs on the Official Will this Fit Thread. But, there are great entry level coilovers between 750-1200. Just in case you want to check them out. But get what you like! Konis are great, and well made

Has anyone in this forum run koni oranges and pro kits together? Any feedback would be great :)

I have had oranges and prokits since july. They're pretty nice. The drop was about 1,1/4" but I'm on used prokits and they settled quite quickly.
I got them because they were cheaper than yellows And I just needed to replace my blown OEM struts. if you want more of a sporty feel, save up The couple hundred $$$ and get the yellows.
For a DD they're pretty nice. Body roll has been reduced significantly And when the car is fully loaded, they do not bottom out, nor does anything rub.
I'm quite happy with them, as well as the included warranty.

I've been on Koni Oranges and Prokits on my Gen 1 for a few months now. The set up is perfect for my DD and it is not Super low where I cannot get up my driveway. It eliminates the wheel gap and you still have a great feel when driving. I would highly recommend Koni Oranges and Prokits to anyone.

Not necessarily. I had K-Sport Kontrol Pro coils on my 12 hatch when I had it, never had an issue. We're not top notch either. IIRC 07carbon3 has them now. He could likely shed some light.

I pulled the trigger and order koni oranges and eibach pro kits. From reading and researching, these seem to be oem ride quality with a minor drop to hide the ugly wheel gap. For what I want, this seemed to be the best combo.

I jumped on the KONI Orange as well while they are on sale. I'll be at Street Performance tomorrow to get them installed and paired with my Prokits! Read a few reviews from different forums and thir pair seems to be good for a DD with a bit more fun than OEM.

depends if the h&r are sport springs or not. h&r sports are lower.

They don't feel very good until after the springs have settled and you have an alignment. I had doubt's over what I had just installed as the ride quality wasn't great, but after an alignment they're really nice.

I've been running the prokits on stock shocks for a more than year. They "broken in" already.
Would I need an alignment after the damper install?

Anytime you touch suspension stuff, it's highly recommended to get an alignment.

Will do funkdupspeed3.
After install, jimmy found that right rear rim is bent in the inside. That explains the vibration of the wheel at speeds. Hopefully warm weather arrives soon so I can put on my all seasons wheels.
