Hi guys its been a month now I have noticed a drastic decreased in my acceleration and I have CEL too, before I have CEL and I always closed properly my gas cap and its gone now its there and wont go. I came to conclusion maybe its the spark plug as I noticed my acceleration was slow than before and this car has never been change its spark plug since day 1, please recommend me a good spark plug and where I can buy it thanks, btw my car is a 2008 mazda 3 sedan currently 149k on odometer.

Check which CEL it is to be sure. Get a code reader or have a mechanic/dealership/friend look at it with one.

+1. You're definitely due for plugs also. Use the OEM iridium's, more expensive then the CT/aftermarket ones, but very well worth it.

I've got those too. Isn't it something like 160k between changes as well, so it makes up for the higher price

120k is what they state actually....but yeah, well worth the cost.

+1 here!
Since you are in North York, my suggestion is to go to Mazda of Toronto parts, give them your VIN# and have them lookup and provide the correct OEM Mazda plugs, which are NGK's as per John mentioned.
Tell them you are a TM3 member and ask for the discount. You can then install yourself or go and see Jimmy at Street Performance.

Thanks for the reply guys this are very helpful, yeah I really notice the slow acceleration while driving even on 1st gear lol and I think I need to change as soon as possible before I hear a weird sound next time which I dont want to happen.

So everyone suggest for OEM which is NGK and that is what I will look for, regarding installation I dont have my own garage as I lived on an apartment and dont have the necessary tools for it. Im looking for someone to install it for me when I buy those plugs and where is Street performance?

All you need is a deep socket and an extension, it'll take 10 minutes tops

I can pretty much disect my car too if I have time and a place but currently I dont have both (see my post XD) (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?71399-Window-wiper-problem-nightmare!!!&highlight=)Anyway my friend just suggested me this ones($5 each I think its a good deal :3) since he got 2 of them and have them installed what do you think for this kind spark plugs?

The moment I start my engine I noticed a very aggressive sound and the noise is much different than before, I also noticed acceleration has increased even though its very little but I can feel the difference! The rpm is much faster when I put on gas and also I noticed my gas improved from 10l/100km to 9.0l/100km.
Now I have this other problem lol... This CEL keeps showing up but I didnt see any problem, before I just readjust my gas cap and its gone now the light is staying there for good even though I can feel car is running good. Is there someone I can go that do CEL for my car? please let me know.

Honestly,... they suck!
You are almost always better sticking to the original Manufacturers choice of plug, and I've found through experience the platinum plugs are not as good as they claim to be....short lifespans etc..

what do you base "they suck" on?
platinum plugs would be the closer to iridium than copper and *******the only reason manufacturers use iridium is because they last FOREVER*****... copper are THE BEST PERFORMING(best conductivity) but they need replaced every day nearly lol.
so they do not suck at all, and they are probably working 10X better than the worn old plugs she had in there...
Different material= different use/qualities

Longevity and firing issues.
Please read my first sentence carefully again.

I base the suck on the longevity as well. I tried the Bosch platinum 4's on my e30. The Platinum burned off quite quickly then started causes issues.. All in all, it was a waste of money. Iridiums are cheaper and work better

I think you've been misinformed! Probably from the crap you've read on the internet and here for instance.
Lets get one thing straight; ALL plugs or most all plugs use a copper center electrode, even the iridium plugs. So not much difference in the CONDUCTIVITY between the copper and iridium, except iridium plugs may and can use a purer copper... The platinum or iridium plugs will use their specific metal on only the tips of the central electrode and mostly for the outer electrodes for longevity, which does not effect conductivity for the most part.
Furthermore, most 'so called' copper plugs are NOT 100% copper, they are a mixture of alloys, mostly a nickel-alloy mixture, so not the greatest in conductivity and the shitiest for longevity.
You want the best sparking plug? You'd have to buy a Silver plug.
*Iridium plugs are used extensively in very high performance racing engines....think they know something you don't?

Actually the Mazda OEM iridium plug, not the Crappy tire iridium plug, (there is a difference), is the most expensive plug. But thanks for the back-up.:)

The person is saying they have a CEL...screw the plugs, what is tripping the code? Plugs might be a handful of the hundreds of things it could be.

Aw No. Its called knowledge and you get it form reading from various sources...Have you ever read an NGK pamphlet? I'm sure you will find more info in my post. ;)

Yes but he's also asking what new plugs to get. Not knowing and posting what the CEL code is does not help the situation.

ive used the ngk g-power before and they worked fine for well up to 60,000km in my car. when i changed them out they were still working fine. i now use the ngk iridium IX and theyre working fine as well.
