It\'s too bad this mirror and the rain sensing wipers don\'t play well together, I would have bought this option when ordered my car in February.

I sure hope this option becomes available soon. Hopefully, Mazda get\'s the kinks worked out.

If you have a GX model, this option might work right now since they don\'t have the rain sensing wipers.

So far this option is only for 3\'s without rain-sensing wipers.

i had the auto-dimming mirror in the maxima and, in the 3 years i had it, i turned it off every time i started the car. you can\'t tell whether a cop car is creeping up on you at night ;)

the cool feature about the mirror for the 3 is the homelink. i used that everyday in the maxima and it saved me having to \"buy\" a new transmitter when i lived in a condo.

My rear tint (15%) takes care of all the glare. The auto dimming mirror would be useless for me now.

I don\'t even have to use the day/night function on my miror anymore. It\'s great.

I dont care about Homelink or auto dimming. Is there anyway to get the compass/temp mirror, and have it, and the rain sensor work ok?

Temp may not... because I think the sensor will still have to be in the same unit as the rain sensor and auto headlight.

BAH! Damn, I love the look of the one without HomeLink

Actually, the ambient temperature sensor is located in the front of the car in the engine bay, I believe in front of the radiator. Someone in the other forum posted some step-by-step instructions on how to install the mirror.

I agree with you midnight. I liked the ability to see the outside temp and the compass is nice too :)

I ordered this back in Dec and nobody at the dealership or Mazda could give an explanation as to why it wouldn\'t work with Auto Wipers. In was frustrating but I let it go because there wasn\'t anything to resolve the issue.

Anyone know if there is a fix planned?

If it fits our cars and has the compass and temperature sensor, I would buy it for myself as an early Christmas gift! haha.

I\'m still trying to figure out the relevance of Fat Bastard\'s head in Flipspeed\'s post...

But either way, I smell a group buy if there is a way to install it!

In the movie, Fat Bastard says \"MayBei\" (Maybe). Thats why his head is there.

Joe, you gotta tell us something. :)

It should be available in Canada now. Some guys over at M3F (http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=32459.60) have this mirror installed already.

Homelink isn\'t like Onstar. Homelink is a system use to control household devices like garages, lights, frig and etc. Some americans have homelink enabled homes to allow them to open/close the garage door and etc. http://www.homelink.com
