Hey everyone,
Last February I changed my transmission oil to redline mt-90. I thought that changing to synthetic will make shifting much smoother but that's not the case for me. I am not saying that it's hard to shift or anything, but it doesn't have that buttery smooth shifting. I've got 139k right now and the clutch is still got some good life in it. Does synthetic gear oil make shifting rougher in general or could it be the clutch or the transmission? (again I'am not saying that the gears are grinding or anything, it's just not really smooth).

Thank you

cars come with synth from factory. so its already synth gear oil in there. same with the auto from what i remember as well. anyway. depending on the fluid will change the shift. i have motul and the mrs has ford and they both shift a bit different.

I just replaced mine at 150k to 2L castrol syntec and 0.9L of lucas full syntec. It's smooth like what your talking i feel no engagement other than the normal main resistance point indicating you're in gear.
