I installed a pair of front DBA slotted rotors on my MS3 with Hawk HPS pads.
Been only to 1 lapping event (20 laps on Cayuga) and less than 1 year of driving, now the rotors got squeeizing noise and the whole steelring shakes when I brake. Brought it to my mechanic to check it out, been advised that it has hot spots and need to be replaced.

I paid over $200 for thsoe rotors last year and not expecting replacement for a short period of time.

Anything else has similar experiences for DBA rotors?

thats weird. considering you were using hps pads and only 1 lapping event.

I beat the crap out of my slotted stoptechs with hp+ pads. took three yrs (15ish track days + DD) before they needed replacing.

Hot spots are often caused by not letting off the brakes after hard stopping. The contact area of the pads on the rotor cools at a different rate than the rest of the rotor and causes warping. You could warp rotors after one drive.

You're not driving hard enough... Or, if you do, you're keeping your foot on the brake pedal for too long while the rotor is hot. Like The Wolf said, warped rotors are a result of pad material transfer on hot spots.

To alleviate it, you need to re-bed the pads to the rotors to get rid of the hot spots. Do that first before scrapping the DBA
