View Full Version : 80s/90s box car ricers
hate those lame arse mofos
so many of them in my neighbourhood... driving old 80\'s or early 90\'s box cars (accord, corolla, civic) with bling bling rims, those damn airplane wing spoilers (titanium?) ... and flippin tin can bought from Crappy Tire exhausts... and you can see either a CD hanging from the rearview mirror and/or a tiger doll sitting on the dash or back windshield....
cheap ass wannabe Dominic Toretto...

I had to Google \"Domenic Toretto\" to find out who that was. :sarc
I\'ve got a few of those in my neighbourhood. I\'ve seen a mid-90s Acura Legend with an aluminum wing on the back, slammed suspension and a huge vinyl sticker saying \"Tiger Racing\" on the front and rear windows.
I think the same guy previously had a late 80s or early 90s white Chevy Baretta. On that one he applied white tape around the rear tail lights and, I kid you not, a row of foot long white plastic chain link that dangled from the rear bumper. :sarc

I work in Miss, always see an 90\' Accord with all the bumpers, side sills, hood scope upgraded but either unpaint or painted in white, while car is in grey, It makes me laugh.
several years before, I even saw a 90\' Maxima with Supra wing.

I really don\'t understand why people do such. I can understand if you restore the car nice and clean and then mod it, in good taste. But this nonsense with an entire body kit, some crazy colour (lime green or some purple) and ofcourse the \"tilted\" lic. plate :sarc Why, why, why??? I can only think of a few worthy cars (imo) such as an \'84/\'85 Corrolla or a Datsun 510.

Why can\'t they be smart? save up for a good car... don\'t be driving a steel paperweight...
Save up and get an awesome new car... like a 3...

a young kid in my workplace mod his 90 Civic (EF for some car guys) with lower suspensions, noisy tailpipe, etc. and he said one time it look nice to have gullwing/Diablo doors and will cost $10,000. I immediately told him waste of $, and he said it was show to win some prize. for me as an old guy (31), I would have the $ to buy nicer cars than mod something crazy. Ask your girls if you driving a \"dressup\" Civic, Corolla, etc., or you drive a plain BMW, Audi, MB, which one will let your girl more happy? I don\'t know for sure though.

B18C1 GS-R swap? or B18C5 ITR swap?
when i was at St. Thomas in Oct2002, there were a few civic hatches running mid to high 14s

I only have 2 pics left of my old project Civic. I dropped in a B18C1 GSR motor it was a perfect fit and the car pulled like crazy!

When everyone was souping up hatches I wanted to stand out and do a sedan. Unfortunately the wife couldn\'t drive stick so I had to sell her.

14.5 sec 1/4 mile is entirely believable, even without slips. that was a sweet looking civic.

That time was with the interior gutted, I mean literally just the driver\'s seat and the dash. All lining and padding was removed all for weight reduction.
I tried to teach her but she just gave up. Oh well at least I had my fun with the car.

I saw this guy too, not a very bright idea!
maybe marks for originality? or ugliness
BTW, take a trip to woodbridge, most compact cars you see are modified, most of them very ugly these guys really have no taste.
they will put a damn shopping cart spoiler on thier car and thinks its sweet looking.

There are just so many box cars around with unpainted bodykits... I would save up some $$ and paint the kit before I even put it on the car.
And some with the sweet IS300 style taillights but f*ked up wirings... \"hey bud, nice car but you have no brake lights\"
Last but not least, how about unmatched rims? 2 alloys and 2 steelies or unmatched alloys.....

from my experience, box car racers have cheapie front rims b/c they use them for racing
they have excessive wear on the fr tires, so they just keep putting on stolen rims/steelies.
Someone explain to me what the reasoning is behind the ppl who hang CDs from their review mirrors? It does NOT interfere speed gun readings!

must be for the cool light dispersion effect (prism - colour separation) :sarc
always wondered that myself..

I always believed it was for the same reason that guys put \"hand cuffs\" on the mirror. To show that they\'re into kinky sex games.
No?

What music has to be on the cd?
Will it work with pop music, or does it have to be Hip Hop?
Whats the preference, which one works best?
Do the Islamic cd\'s have Islamic music on them, if so could it be that the power of the music is jamming the radar?
You copied and pasted??? :p :p

I think we can all agree that having Celine Dion on any CD would jamb electrical devices within a 5-mile radius and most people\'s sanity.
Trying my best NOT to be racist here ...
What\'s the deal with the traditional Indian music blaring at max volume?!?!?! Some people seriously scream \"gimme attention!!!\"
Gimme a rocket launcher.

I don\'t think it is any different from blaring Hip Hop, Dance or any other music style.
It does make me smile though.... :p
with majic around, I\'d rather Google than be majoogled. :p
true on the blaring of music over all ... (goes and installs 1000W speakers and subs into car and grabs latest Celine Dion CD) ... you\'re all so fugged now!!!
