Hey guys.

So i have somewhat of an odd issue. Lately i've been hearing my compressor really kicking on via the RMM that's been installed.

So i went to check it, turned off ALL the heat, all the accessories, and still, the computer is showing that the Compressor switch keeps turning on the compressor every 20 seconds or so.

Can someone tell me if this is normal on these cars? I've been dealing with seriously terrible milage the past couple weeks, and it just doesn't get any better.

Before i take it to the dealer, i was hoping i could get someone to tune in on this.

Thanks!

Dan

FYI - I can tell the switch is turning on the compressor via my scantool. I used a LAUNCH EasyDiag scantool with my phone, and it shows it kicks on every 20 seconds or so, and keeps it on for about 5-10 seconds.

Thanks!

Seeing as you can't turn the heater controls completely off, what direction was the mode selector? Feet and defrost, or just defrost continue to run the AC compressor. Have you tried it in a setting other than those two?

+1. And Read the manual to find which mode selections DO NOT use the A/C.

Defrost and feet+Defrost will turn the AC on.

Let me clarify here.

Everything related to heating, and defrost is off as i stated before.

As for the manual, before telling someone to do such a thing, maybe you should take into consideration that there might be something defective.

Say something productive instead something completely asinine.

Defrost, all sources of heat have been turned OFF. there's no way that A/C unit should be cycling.

Doesn't matter if the fan is blowing or not. There's the knob that selects WHERE the air comes from. If you have it set to defrost or feet + defrost, the AC will turn on.

As for the manual, maybe you shouldn't assume that something is wrong and instead assume you just don't have a clue what you're talking about. Read the damn book!

Well I'm not familiar with the Gen2 system, but with the gen1 the system is never completely off, and on the mode selector anything to the left of 12 o'clock will not use the A/C. THAT is why I suggested you read the manual.

We'll see who turns out looking like an ass here, but I know I surely won't, as I was just trying to be helpful.

Thanks.

I should emphasize again on the usage of these settings. They have ALL been tried.

So "Reading the damn manual" no longer applies. Also keep in mind, that i've looked up the switch itself with the scan tool, and found it was on a random trigger. Which infact ended up being defective.

Replaced under warranty.

Gotta love how people jump to assume that its a user error.

Holy ****. Nobody assumed anything. You asked for help and we gave you the most likely scenario. Then you call our posts useless and asinine. Lose the attitude, or you won't be getting any more help on here.

I'm already done.

Random trigger my ass. ;)
