Hi all. I am taking my car to the dyno day at APH on the 31st and I am wondering what mods I need to get 300WHP. Currently this is the list of mods I have. Complete Cobb SF and inlet pipe. Bigger TMIC. All turbo hoses replaces with better performance ones, fuel pump internals, I have a full CS catted 80 mm DP going into a custom exhaust into a single magniflow muffler out the driver side. I am running stage 2 93 OTS map. I have no idea what I am at right now and want to know what more I need. Anyone have a clue as to what I'm at or if I need more.

bigger turbo, meth inj.

Seriously. I thought I could make it to 300 on the stocker

You're running an OTS map....

Have you done any tuning in ATR?

Kiyomi
05-11-2014, 07:54 PM
those for sure will get you above 300.

look at a few member ride threads that have around 300 with stock turbo/internals.

You don't need meth to get to 300whp

Kiyomi

didnt say you need them. i just said they will get you there. :D

No I need to tune the car that I know. If that's all I need to do now that I will do in June. just wasn't sure I I had done enough. If you think I have I will take it to get tuned next.

loki
05-11-2014, 08:01 PM
You won't know how much power your car will make till you start tuning...but like I said right now you're probably around 265 - 270whp

MS3Edge
05-11-2014, 08:05 PM
Ok. As long as I know I have done enough mods before the tune and once the tune is done I will be there im good

Ok. As long as I know I have done enough mods before the tune and once the tune is done I will be there im good

I didn't say you've done enough mods

Have you ever calibrated your MAF sensor?

Have you ever taken datalog readings and looked at how the car is behaving?

MS3Edge
05-11-2014, 08:08 PM
I have just run the data log but not sure how to read that. I have to read up on that to understand it. And no to the MAF. But would that not be all part of the tune

With your mods all you need is a good tune. people make over 300whp on stock turbo every day

I was only making power in the 250+whp range with an ots stage 2 93 w/IC map.

I truly love all the people on the forum that think their opinion matters on people visual preferences of their vehicles. If the forum was there for what it should be which is to offer help and show case it would be so much better. I personally don't give a rats ass what people think of my visual preference is of cars but I do care about learning what I can do to make my car perform better so I can get it to a track and run it. For all of you that have helped me and others thank you. And for the others keep posting your stupid comments as I can laugh at them to because they are funny

300whp can be achieved with basic bolt ons and a tune.

MS3Edge
05-12-2014, 09:24 AM
Good to know. I believe I have all the bolt ons that I need I am just in debate about the IC right now I have the bigger TMIC don't know if changing to the FMIC will make more of a difference. I have heard conflicting stories. With the TMIC and bigger hood scoop I am forcing more air in with a shorter distance to travel. And what I have heard about FMIC is unless you are running on the track it is pointless for the FMiC as the distance is greater to travel and there is a bit more lag in the turbo. Don't know how much of this is true or if it is just personal preference.

Car runs fine on the track as is. Take it to the track first and then figure out what you want to mod.

+1, After my first track experience in MZ3 I totally agree with that. Tires and suspensions is more important for the track, that 300whp won't help you turn faster.

The reason people give you shit is you're asking completely noob questions that a little reading would answer very quickly. You're also on a forum that is not overly technical and dominated by MZ3's not MS3's so although there are a few of us who know how to break 300whp on the stock turbo, we aren't going to spend time spelling it out for you.

Also I find it funny when people think Meth add's power on it's own... Kiyomi do you even know why people run meth on these cars?

I am offering you the advise of reading a bunch of information that's readily accessible such as this:

Dude, I am plenty well respected here on TM3. I have helped dozens of people on here with various things such as advise, installs, group buys, etc.

I suggest if you want to be treated like an adult and valuable member, you start acting like one. Please do some searches and read some threads (such as the mod path series I linked) and come back with some intelligent questions and I'll be more than happy to help.

As an FYI I posted this post from some advise from others. I have no issues reading up on things. You may be respected by others but guys that have nothing better to do than make smart ass comments are a waste of time for me. I have no issues as I said. But you throw crap at people you better be able to take it right back. I appreciate the link and as always I appreciate anyone's help and support just no time for haters

you guys are both killing me

SomeGuy, I don't know how many of the speed3 guys have met you, and I'm talking about the regulars. It's because you need to come out to events like the dyno day and top just claiming that people from Toronto suck

steve.edgerton42 your questions are totally noobish, almost to the point of being silly. But at the same time, most people ask silly questions at first. My suggestion is to save the nitty gritty questions for days like the TM3 dyno day when you can meet a bunch of people and ask questions in person.

SomeGuy
05-12-2014, 03:29 PM
I claim the Toronto people suck to get you guys going ;) I know not all of you suck. I've met pretty much every TM3 member in the KW area including the speed guys here and have met whoever comes to the BubbaQ and a couple other random ones here and there. You guys are also welcome to come my way for an install day, how many of you guys ever come out to KW? :)

I've had guys who have barely turned a wrench in their life and will get them to do an entire suspension swap or something on their own cars, noobs are definitely welcome. Do you have anything you need installed? Or just want to come hang out?

We had one this past weekend did internals and a TMIC on Bully Dog Racing's car and looked at a strut for greffer31 and swapped wheels for a guy I work with on his 6 and I did a few electrical fixes on my other vehicle. I know myself and DLYDRVN have some chassis braces to do, I have new endlinks to put on, and I want to pull my intake manifold sometime to do a valve cleaning at some point and we need to start working on his (DLYDRVN's) tune...so some of that might happen this month. There's always stuff to be done :)
