How long did you have to wait for it?
It\'s been 3 weeks for me as of today and I still didn\'t get it.

My dealer took it off the price of the car (with sufficient proof). Probably a 6-8 week wait, but just a guess.

I can\'t remember exactly how long, but I am certain it was within the time frame that they quote. There was a thread on m3f and I know I posted here (http://www.mazda3forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=5808&highlight=grad+rebate)
It took 5 weeks.

Thanks for the replies! I sure could use it. Was it $600 or $600-taxes?

I believe they did, since I got my transcript back by Fedex.

Thanks for the replies guys!
I called Mazda today and the guy on the phone said it takes 6 weeks, so I have 2 to go.
By the tone of his voice and what he told me, he was as clueless as I about the wait time.

I just got mine in yesterday. It took pretty much the whole six weeks.

As per Mazda and my dealer (as of this past week), I can expect mine by mid-late Sept, which would mean 2 mths since taking delivery or 3.5mths since ordering.

I had my Grad Rebate used as part of the downpayment instead of having a cheque sent to me. Why didn\'t you guys do the same?

There\'s no point putting money down at prime 3.75% in my case b/c any other $ you might owe (cc, loans, etc) will be higher than prime. So that $ is better spend there. Plus I thought I could get my cash earlier as I can really use it :)
I may save it for winter tires+steel rims.

Ok, I see what you\'re saying. I chose to finance at 2.9% for 36 months and don\'t have any other debts so thats why I included in the downpayment.
Did you guys have the Mazda dealer send in the Grad Rebate for you? I just ordered my transcript from UofT and they\'ll have it printed this week. Charge was $10 for transcript. Even after graduating, UofT still finds a way to rip alumni off.
$10 for $600 is worth it, I guess.

Yeah, dealer sent it.
York also charged $10 for it

Did you get your original transcript back? They sent me back the original transcript by Fedex but I\'m still waiting for my $600 rebate.... it\'s been 3 months and 10 days since I picked up the car http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/sauer/angry-smiley-030.gif

They faxed a copy of the transcript when I was there.

They requested an original transcript... but it came back 2 months ago with a post-it that says \"return original to customer\".

Who knows... The sales mgr at Avante looked after it, so I expect it to be done right.

I called Mazda Canada today. The rep. was very friendly and helpful. She said she will track it for me and give me a call back in a few days, normally it is mailed with the transcript in the same envelope. Since I got my transcript back, the cheque should be somewhere if it\'s not in the same envelope.
So in other words, they approved and sent me the rebate in June... a month after I picked up my car.
Went home tonight... saw this brand new letter envelope lying on the desk upside down. Turned it around and it got something blue inside. **Rings a bell** I FOUND MY REBATE.... *DUH* http://www.mazda3forums.com/images2/smilies/doh.gif

I had my Grad Rebate taken off the total of my car, which made more sense to me rather than waiting for a cheque to arrive. Its all the same in the end.
I just have to wait for my transcipt to come back.

It\'s no different to me either (although I got mine in the mail after taking delivery of the car) BUT it\'s a pyschological thing for some people... getting a cheque feels a lot more rewarding than just getting the same exact amount deducted during the order process. :)

I would rather they deduct $600 off my payment. So I saved $600 right away and don\'t have to wait for the cheque to arrive.... I waited for my car long enough. But they didn\'t offer me the option of deducting the rebate at all..... :(
Mail in coupons/rebates are advantageous to the seller while at the same time it causes more-than-regular interest in the product for the consumer. Consumer sees, consumer has interest, consumer buys. Consumer often is lazy or forgetful of the rebate.
In our case, sending the cheque afterwards brings in more interest (if financing) money to the dealership (any extra money they can put on the balance owing is extra interest dollars for them).
That is how I think it works... so they will rarely, if ever, offer to take the rebate amount off immediately.

Mazda of Brampton said I could use $600 rebate as a downpayment right away. I went ahead and did that. They never gave me any trouble at all about the grad rebate, although the business manager did take a long look at my UofT marks...:sarc
Probably checking your accounting/finance grades to see if you\'d be gullible for a scam. keke

Hahaha.
Being in Comp Eng, we didn\'t take any business courses except for one in 4th year.
I\'m sure he was checking my Theory of Computation, Computer Architecture and Digital Processing marks. He really took a long look, not just a glimspe over which surprised me.

I got mine also exactly a month minus 2 days (so back around the beginning of December). The day of an exam I headed out and saw that the day before there was a Purolator delivery stub on the door. On the way home from my last exam I went to pick it up and was kind of scared to hear that it was from Rogers (I have nothing to do with Rogers). After opening it at home I find a nice check inside. Woo hoo. It felt great that it seemed like I got paid for buying the car (even though it was just money back, it felt nice) :)

Finally, I got my grad rebate after waiting for 3 months since I picked up my car at the end of September. It was delivered to my home on Dec 24 but nobody was there to receive it. Waited until the post office to open yesterday to pick it up. It was a long line up there ..
