View Full Version : Engine Bay THAT Hot?
Hey guys I asked this in another post but just wanted to see if it really is normal. After a 15 mins drive, the engine bay becomes quite hot. The engine cover is pretty warm to the touch. Even the hood support bar is hot on the metallic part. Is this normal??

Did you see what\'s underneath the hood? :D
(I think somebody said this on M3F)
Hahaha okay fine fine I\'ll stop being paranoid... about the heat emmitted from the engine.

I think my next mod will be to remove the engine cover and attach a teflon coated piece of metal in its place. I\'ll have my own hot plate so I can cook my food on the way home. :D

We can have an early meet and you can cook breakfast for all, right:)

My engine coolent guage (one above fuel level) goes from Below C to 1/2 way be the time I pull out of my driveway and drive maybe 50 metres.
Doesn\'t go higher than 1/2 way tho. I\'m liking it, because in winter, it would be nice if the car heats up quickly.

There is actually a cookbook out there that has recipies for cooking on long drives. I have no idea what it is called but i saw it once.
