Hello all,

Just wondering if there is a method to disable the following safety features on a 2013 Mazda3

1. The seatbelt chime.

2. The speed lock on the GPS unit

Thanks!

Don't think there is away to disable the chime unless the seat belt is pluged into the buckle.

Why does the seatbelt chime need to be disconnected?

Some people just hate to hear the car bitch at them when they aren't being safe and wearing it. Makes total sense.... :facepalm

For the door chime if you remove the speedometer console you should be able to disable it by cutting one of the wires. Shouldn't be hard to figure out which one with a voltmeter. While you're taking your car apart you might want to disable the air bags as well. Those things can get really annoying in accidents, and won't help much without a seat belt.

figure out what wire to cut on the seatbelt buckles.

the gps is probably not possible.

Dealer for the chime. You can turn off both front seats ot driver / passenger only. No hack for the gps that I know

love how some ppl jump to conclusion that i don't wear a seat belt when they see the thread....
I wear my seat belt 100% of the time when I am on public roads, the only times I take them off is when I enter a parking lot and need to spend 15 20 minutes looking for a parking spot, ie Saturdays at Yorkdale or lunch time at First Markham place where speeds are 10-15km/h. The chime just gets annoying when you are trying to look for a spot and park.

And before anyone judges even further, the HTA does not apply on private property, so not wearing your seat belt in a private parking lot is perfectly legal.

Legal perhaps, but not safe. Apparently you haven't seen how people drive in parking lots.

If you need to take your seat belt off to find parking your doing it wrong.

Especially in Markham. :chuckle

dont worry, some times i dont wear mine. heck the reason i did it was when we go somewhere the mrs takes for ever to adjust in the car and i hate waiting so like to drive away, but her not wearing the belt would piss me off with the noise. so i got it removed. that and moving it from the road to the drive way or around a parking lot, at tims whatever, dont need the chime as soon as it starts moving. should be above a specific speed.

Stopping the seatbelt chime is in the owners manual
