Hey guys,
Does anyone know somebody who can disable the drl on my car (04)? I have angel eyes installed but I really cant enjoy them because of the stupid drl. I saw that you can make the independent fog mod but I really suck at wiring :(

Thanks

Remove DRL fuse?

There's no drl fuse in 04-06 models.

Can rewire the angel eyes into the drl circuit.

And how do I do that ?

There's a possibility that may not work for you either. The DRL use a lower voltage and doesn't play nice with lights that require a minimum 12v.
Although I'm not sure how you have your angel eyes wired. When do they come on?

they're wired to go on when you turn on the side markers.

You can always disconnect the ebrake sensor and ground it out. Your ebrake light will always be on (a little annoying to be honest) but your drls will not turn on cause the car thinks the ebrake is engaged.

This is another way to do it, but I wouldn't recommend it. That same light is also used to tell you something is wrong with the brakes (ie: low brake fluid)

I just check the amount of brake fluid I have whenever I check my oil n such

Definitely a good habit, but unfortunately 95% others wouldn't if they went this route :p

No easy way, because there is so fuse. Disabling the ebrake sensor is probably the easiest and quickest way, even though might not be the wisest. But that's what you get for taking short cuts lmao

before disabling a mandatory thing on a Canadian Vehicle, you may want to call your insurance company to see if they will still cover you if you did it and were involved in an accident.

If he runs with the angel eyes all the time he should be fine.

Absolutely.

that's what I did on my 05, and the insurance company was fine with it providing it was a default illumination, (ie required no turning on/off)

Just use a simple relay and re wire the headlights. There are how to's

pins 86+87- 12V power
pin 85.......- Black/green chaser wire on the headlight switch(there are 2 use the one isolated in the corner)
pin 30.......- Power output to the headlight bulb. Just make sure to cut the stock power wire off the stock connector and connect the relay
heres a quick diagram

I hold no liability to any damage or whatever else may occur should you choose to follow my instructions. If you need help simply ask

Edit: had to rework the diagram

ThanksIndy fog mod is very easy, you only need to splice 2 wires iirc. Make sure you do the one that is under the PJB. Follow the instructions and take your time. It was my first electrical mod and I had zero issues. Having good tools/electrical connectors, etc also goes a long way. Have someone help you if absolutely necessary, but it is a 1 person job.

Also, when putting the big connectors back together, make very sure they are firmly seated before locking them. A lot of people rush this, finish, and then ask why half of their car doesn't work.

so the diagram that McGuyver_3 posted is for the indy fog (which disables the drl). Now is there a way of making the angel eyes the drls? they're currently wired to turn on instead of the side markers.

That diagram is NOT for the indy fog mod. That is a diagram how to disable the DRL's and have the headlights work in an OEM fashion

I see. Is there a way of making the side markers (angel eyes in my case) the drls ??

use the cut positive wires for the headlights on the cars side and hook up the angel eyes. They will always be on.

Also, I have hids installed and I have a capacitor cause of the flickering ...not sure if that would make a difference.

don't take this the wrong way but the way I see it you are better off getting this done by someone

That's what will happen. I'am just trying to gather as much information as possible so everything goes smoothly. Sorry for all the dumb and annoying questions eh
