Hey fellow mazda peeps. I am going to be changing the headliner in my 06 mazda 3 hatch. I was wondering if there was any advice from people on here that have done it already and also what type of glue should i use to have it stick tight to the old headliner?

Any advice is much appreciated.

Also if anyone wants to lend a hand thats also very appreciated .......unlikely i know but i thought i would throw it out there lol

Definitely use a headliner-specific glue. Not super 77. And spray both the headliner and the fabric.

Using patterned fabric with lines (ie. plaid) is difficult to keep straight especially when stretching around contours and edges.

I was thinking of a dark colour....everyone does plaid and dont get me wrong i like the look of it but unless i can find a dark plaid black, white, grey mix even red in there too then maybe id go for it.....the fabricland i went to today was garbage so il be going to another one tomorrow to see what i can grab...

Use 3m #90 spray glue . Works really well, although you will have to track it down in the US. Some stupid law that stores here in Canada are "not allowed" to sell it anymore

ebay link (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/3M-Hi-Strength-90-Spray-Adhesive-24oz-can-/290780642901?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43b3e07e55)

I know its expensive but it works

i used the 3m #70 seems to be holding up pretty good. its a b*tch of a install too. if getting it professionally installed wasnt so damn expensive i think i would of gone that route and still might depending how it holds up over then next coming months with the heat and now a black roof lol

for some reason i cant post pictures on here but il text you.......i was told by acouple of the upholstery places i called that to never use 3m stuff and there is a ceramic adhesive that they use that makes it work properly. 3m stuff is all heat rated so days like today make the adhesive go tacky again and cause the fabric to sag which is whats happening right now.....i cant find a headliner around here ive called 15 wreckers and not a single one has one. and my car isnt big enough to transport one from beamsville so i am not sure what to do now. a place i called said 300 to fix it if they do the uninstall fix and reinstall or 200 if i bring them they headliner uninstalled and i install it myself.......not sure what to do now fml
