08/28 is my b-day and as much as I like the 3 and the club, I really don;t think I\'ll be there.

I\'m up for Eastside mini meets though.

Perhaps what we also need or will need soon as the club grows, is a rep for West, East, Central and North to organise mini meets and start-up rivalries ;)

We are going to set that up when the club reaches about 15 members (who actually come out to the meets) in each area. Right now the average is about 6 in each area.

I would love to show up to these meets as well but that date is already booked on my calendar. I like the thoughts of the mini meets and feel that if they are started up then there will be a better show at the universal meets. Start off in small groups and watch them grow and then build the interest. Then come together and the universal meets will be much larger. With smaller meets it is easier to pick a date where everybody can make it because there are less people involved. Great way to build hype and take it forward. It will be less of a commute for everybody yet still build the same excitement and energy. Then the big meets will be even more rewarding.

I won\'t be there either. I have an 8am flight to Vancouver!

Xenon
08-09-2004, 12:38 PM
Haha... ok, ok... Couple things...

Snipes - We will work towards the mini-meet ideas, but right now he turnout for the mini-meets, in my opnion, would be very small. I will definately be in support of this idea once we are large enough to have reps for the different areas of Toronto. If the club grows the way it has been, I can see it happening by the end of the year. However, our meets have been getting constantly better. 1st meet we had 12, 2nd we had 15 and the 3rd one we had 18. So far with that trend I think we are doing very well. It is nearly impossible to choose a date that will fit everyone\'s schedules.

Derksen & others - Are there a lot of people who have a problem with this date? if so, we can skip the meet at the end of august and just do one in September... that would make it September 25th.

MZ3_GS - We could try downsview park, although there\'s not much scenery or public around. We\'ll include that location when we vote for it.

I also would not be able to make it on that date, unfortunately. :(

Are weekends bad for everybody or would a night after work, work better? In my Probe club we would always meet on like a wednesday or something like that. That club was local to Richmond Hill though.

Hey Xenon, you want to throw up a poll and see what days people prefer to meet on? It may help define days which are best for people.

I don\'t think I can make that date. A friend\'s stag in London on Friday night so I don\'t know when I\'ll be back. Weekends are preferred, just because meeting after work and driving thru rush hour traffic is never fun. Unless it\'s just a local meet.

Is everyone busy before summer ends? (althought it looks like this summer has ended early....)

What about meeting in Sept instead?

I think \"back to school\" event cause a lots of work for me, and that date for sure I HAVE TO WORK :sarc , then we have labour day next wkend, so from mid to end of Sept would be settle down for most of us.

LOLZ - that wasn\'t really a cruise. It was just a slightly extended drive so that we could go EAT ... and I gotta say, I really like Jack Astor\'s :p

But the next time we meet, we should definitely set up a nice cruise, using at least two lanes.

Xenon
08-10-2004, 10:56 PM
We just have to be careful about using two lanes.

On a two laned road it\'s out of the question. we would impede the flow too much and if we get separated, it\'s hard for two lanes of 3\'s to pull over and wait.

On a highway or something I have no problem, but as a courtesy, I would like to always have at least one lane open for other drivers to pass.

A road with less traffic would make things a lot easier. Sheppard was just too busy.

our route wasn\'t exactly planned tho... we kinda just made it up.

Do we want people to notice us? If so we\'re stuck with driving in the city, separation by traffic lights, other traffic cutting in, etc.

If we don\'t care to have onlookers, we can meet in the urbs/country side and do a nice cruise although those roads are usually single lane.

Up until the middle of September I\'ll be out town every weekend. Later in September would be good though. Have you guys thought about having an evening meet? The guys at Matrixowners.com have a couple of meets a month, one on a weekend and one on a week night. The traffic and parking lots would be a little quieter in the evening.

Just my $0.02

Forgive me if this has been covered before, having just picked up my car I really didn\'t look at the meet topics at all.

As previously announced, The Meet of the Mazdas will be occuring on September 12th, 2004.

This is really close to our proposed date of TM3 Official Meet #4 & 5. The proposed date of Meet #4 at the current time is August 28th.

We have three options:

Option 1:
TM3 Meet on Aug 28th (Saturday)
Meet of the Mazdas Sept 12th (Sunday)
TM3 Meet on Sept 25th (Saturday)

Option 2:
Cancel Meet on Aug 28th
Meet of the Mazdas Sept 12th
TM3 Meet on Sept 25th

Option 3:
TM3 Meet on Aug 28th
Meet of the Mazdas Sept 12th
Cancel Meet on Sept 25th

I\'m assuming lots of people will want to go to something as big as the Meet of the Mazdas, so I didn\'t really think an option of not going to that was necessary. I will set up a poll to take suggestions.

According the the related poll, sounds like people want a meet in August.

Where should we have it? Eastside or Cental Location.... I really enjoyed the meet at kennedy Commons. Wouldn\'t mind doing that again...

Although I think my parents are thinking of going to the Ex that day... maybe we\'ll go for the morning and I\'ll head to the meet in the afternoon.

Best way to figure this location out (for Aug. 28th) is see who is interested and able to attend the TorontoMazda3.com meet for that day, then from the tally of members, find our central location.

If not the above then what the heck, Kennedy Commons was good publicity indeed.

I would like to inform ALL MEMBERS.... this is our last meet prior to Rotational Locations.

Next week I will be introducing a meet schedule. Check the TM3 Meets Category for our rotation schedule. The new thread will be sticky-ed.

As for Meet #4.... It looks like Westside is winning.... If you have any objections, speak now or forever hold you peace. You have until 9 PM Tomorrow (wednesday) night to post your location.

Westside is winning 4-3, which means, SO FAR, the meet is at AMC Courtney Park.

Since i used to live in Mississauga i kinda know where that is. Take 401 to Hurontario (exit 342). Go north. AMC will be on right at the corner of Hurontario and Courtney Park.

See you east siders at 401/Kennedy at 3pm.

I will be at 401/Kennedy ... easter siders okay to meet at the TD Bank parking lot at 3pm? I think the branch closes right at 3pm.

We will leave 401/Kennedy at 3:20pm sharp!!!

Per our previous meets, please bring FRS Handheld Communications Radio if you have one, and bring a printed sheet of paper with your First Name; TM3 Handle; Make, Model & Trim of your car; and any mods done to the vehicle, for identification purposes.

We can decide at 401/Kennedy who will be comfortable to lead the cruise.

The meet was a great time. The rain held off till after the second stop of our post meet cruise. After the meet we set off to cruise to the Timmies at Dundas and the 403.

We wanted to show off our real cars to all the crap boxes that are usually parked there. On our way however we crashed a car show. We created quite a stir when we pulled in. We didn\'t stay long however as it was a 50+ car show. Nice cars but the owners were all old farts.

Then across the parking lot to Timmies where we laughed as drunking dancing guy, the mistuned Hondas and the rest of the crappy cars.

Hey MazdaKitten.... where were you. we hoped you would show up with your bike. You could have spent the time deciding what color M3 to buy. Apparently my Velocity Red was quite the hit.

Anyways i took some pics... Check them out here (photos.teambedlam.tv/thumbnails.php?album=12)

I\'ll see you all at the Meet Of The Mazdas... Hey Xenon i\'ll take 2 of the club stickers. I\'ll put them on the car at the Westside pre-meet for MOM. And count me in for a hat as well. I\'ll get my handle on the backside

I was over at Courtney Park & Dixie and even still I left work around 5ish. I had to take the Golf anyways because I had to take stuff home. Enjoy! (http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4120400093&code=11563940&mode=invite)

Although only 10 cars but quite a fun meet since we got a bit of cruising into it all. The Velocity Red Sport GT of teambedlam was in the spotlight for quite sometime! Two black sedans and Miggidy decides to show up on his motorcycle! :p

Had an RX-7 stop by too (I believe is Hypothrml\'s friend?) nice!

Pics are free for commenting too (link above). See you all at the next meet (MOM and Meet #5)!!!

Thanks, methodyst, yeah I\'m gonna try to figure out a better way to do it during our cruise to MOM, unless I have a passenger to stick their head out the moonroof also with the camera. :)

That woudl work except for the Defrost Wires. It might take awhile to Photoshop themout of the pics.

Ya, or we could drive with the hatch open :p...

If I get pulled over I\'ll just say it\'s a spoiler extension :D
