Since the coming weekend will be the anniversary of the major power outtage, I just wanted to get something into the open;

I want another power outtage!

Think \"principle\" of the statement and how our city dramatically changed from \"normal life\" to \"no electricity life\" and then back to \"normal life.\"

See how so many people stopped thinking of work and shopping and just sat back and got to know their neighbours or helped out others in need; total strangers. Your average day Joe Schmoe was in the middle of a busy intersection directing traffic!

People bonded together and it actually felt good to see society become more tight-knitted.

However, unfortunate as it may be, the power came back on and majority of the people were back to their zombie lives...

With that thought in mind, I wouldn\'t mind going the whole summer with limited electricity. We need more niceness in Toronto and less cold-shoulders.

The only problem would be getting gas..... There were more fist fights and tension getting gas than there was getting ice.... I love my car and I\'ll be damned if I\'d have to take my bike to work knowing my baby is sitting at home with an empty tank.... :p

I hear you WTOM. I do live somewhat in the sticks and know my neighbours for miles. I lived in Toronto for 6 years and only knew those from work. I would shovel my driveway which had a foot of snow in it and then do my neighbours driveways as well and they told me to get off their property. What is with that? Why does it appear that most in Toronto are stuck up. I lived in 9 places in Toronto in 7 years and hardly knew any of my neighbours. Pretty sad when you think about it. I also wouldn\'t mind seeing another blackout. I guess we just have to go to one of the hydro plants and short a few wires.:)

I love that black out we had... the stars that night were Amazing.

I didn\'t miss the power much... except for the price hike in gas to 99.9 for basic fuel the day after.

i was working in the Bahamas during the blackout so i didn\'t get a chance to experience it, nor the free top speed runs on the 407 that night :p

It was a once in a lifetime thing.... althought to some people it was the 2nd time in their life.

I worked as usual that day. People were very patient and careful on the road because there was no traffic light. There was no GO Train, obviously no subway and streetcars. I had friends got stuck in the subway tunnel and walked home to Yonge/Steeles from U of T campus - 4 hours. Lots of people walked... something to experience.

Most of the people had BBQ for supper (I did, my neighbours did, and I smelled BBQ the whole evening when I was at work and driving home).

The night sky was beautiful.... anyone watched the reddish coloured Mars?

Electricity is so primary that we need it for everything. No electricity no gas, no fuel (gas stations had to close because their pumps were not working). It could be worse if it happened in winter....

Damn... that\'s what I should have done....

Too bad cops radar\'s are powered by the cruiser/battery. Then again I suppose they would be tied up with other things...
