I\'ve heard from the other forums that Mazda will increase the MSRP of the 3 by $800. I am not sure if that is CDN or US funds but still a substantial amount.

I figure if there aren\'t any major changes in the 2005 model other than new exterior or interior colours, why not get a 2004 model now and save $800?

Any info would be great as I am looking to buy in the next 2-3 months.;)

i stopped into the dealership yesterday and was chatting with the sales manager.

he said that \"most likely\" there will be a price increase, but was unsure of the amount off the top of his head.

he also said that there\'s a 3-4 month wait for a mazda3 and that the build cycle is from january to december (as opposed to september to september for other car manufacturers)...which means that if you order late september/early october04, you\'re looking at getting a 2005 and paying the increased price, unless the car you want is on the lot.

he added that mazda projected a production build of ~40,000 cars for 2004; however there has been way more demand for the car than originally anticipated and projections are that ~60,000 orders worldwide will be put through by the end of the year.

a little off topic but wanted to add that Eddie and Dave G. on the sales floor at Avante Toronto are really cool guys....also, Joe in Parts is easy going and cool to chat with.

Thanks! Great info. I know it makes sense for Mazda to increase the MSRP of the 3 and from what I\'ve been hearing from mazda3forums, it seems very likely that they will increase the price.

What if I ordered a Mz 3 now? Would I be getting the 2005 or the final production run of 2004? I rather avoid the price hike if I can and since there isn\'t BIG changes in 2005, I don\'t mind getting a 2004 model.

so what if i were to order now.. or in a week.. do you kno wwhich model i would be getting?

and since the prices aren\'t fixed yet for 2005 is it possible to get a 2005 model now for a 2004 price ;)

also.. how can you tell if you are subscribed to a cetrain thread - it seems to be really hard to keep track of it (as opposed to other boards)

Best bet is to speak with your dealer.

Click on \"myhome\" to open up your user profile config screen. On the left side there is a navigation panel, click on \"View Subscriptions.\"

Yep, not as friendly as some other BB\'s but no matter, it\'s our source of Toronto Mazda3 info (and the daily getaway when in front of a computer and not in the driver\'s seat of a 3). :)
