:(
turns out it was too low for the touchless (didn\'t have time to hand wash...exam week)...I could hear it scraping when it went through...no visible damage though

I wonder if I damaged anything

check under the car...if it scraped to the bare metal, there is a high probability it will rust faster than normal.

my car has a dealer undercoat...should i get it redone?

a word of warning to everyone: DO NOT take a lowered car to an automatic car wash

also @ FLIPSPEED - do you think I\'d be able to bring it in to Avante and have them put it on the lift so I can see if there\'s any damage? I\'m having problems with my AC so I\'ll probably be coming in sometime later this week to get it fixed...

get it inspected. won\'t know the extent of the damage until you get it up on a hoist. (or crawl under).

if the undercoat was scraped off, it should be reapplied.

next time take the car to an automatic wash that doesn\'t have rails and where the wash arm goes around the car (it will have a sensor that tells you when to stop rather than having to drive over a rail). i also have an integra that\'s lowered 2\" and sits WAY lower to the ground than your 3....it goes to the automatic wash with no rails with no problems (when i can\'t wash it by hand).

I think the damage is minimal...should be only scratches at worst...but I\'m concerned about rust.

The AC problem is not related to this.

Also...where can I find a touchless wash without rails?

I just went through one the other day but that was in Lindsay. Not too close to Toronto. It did a great job though and the arm just circles your car and applies everything from the one arm. Did a great job.

Did it sound like it was scraping the chasiss or just the bumper? Bring it into the shop and we\'ll take a look at it. Make sure you call service first because they might be all booked. Which car wash did you go to?

The bumper doesn\'t seem to have scraped...I didn\'t see or feel any scratches

I think the chassis is lower than the bumper on the 3 right?

Esso @ Yonge/Steeles btw

whereabouts do you live again? a lot of the new esso gas stations have the touchless wash with a flat floor and where the arm goes around your car. the Esso by where i live and where i work (currently in Welland, ON) are both brand new stations and have this \"armed\" touchless.

in my area, there\'s the Esso on Hwy7 just west of bathurst and the Sunoco on Rutherford just west of bathurst that have this type of touchless wash.

don\'t go to the sunoco at Bayview and 7, it has the rails the length of the wash (where it pulls your car through).

also, i remember taking the integra to the esso touchless at St.Clair and Danforth.... this one has the arm BUT you have to drive over a \"weight sensor\" that\'s on a little ramp ....when the driver\'s side tire landed on the sensor, the front undercarriage hit the roll-off ramp and the thud was sickening :(

Hey Autoexe

At the Esso at Yonge/Steeles I only use the do-it yourself car wash. I noticed the rails there are pretty high. I\'ve been to a few Sunoco stations with lower rails.
