I need new brake rotors and pads and wanted to know if anyone has installed either of the two brands on their mazdas and wanted to know how they are performance wise

Depends on what the car will be used for? Track days, DD? Both those mfgs offer multiple pads

EBC > Hawk all day long in terms of performance, dust and noise. Hawks make your car sound like a bus.

I have had the green, red and yellow on my cars and never had an issue, I try out hawk and they are nothing but loud, dusty etc. It's just my opinion.

I'f had green on my cars and it was great. Running Hawks on the RX8 and they'er also great... no noise, low dust.

If you brake late avoid the Hawks. The initial bite is inferior to OEM. If you stop more gradually, the hawks will have less dust and better overall performance.

Just finishing breaking in a set of Yellows paired with OEM rotors, paid ~$515 in parts (2.3L) though you might be able to do better. One of the sponsors here that carry EBC seemed to pointedly ignore me both here and on Facebook so I went elsewhere.

There was a fair bit of squeal initially which has almost completely gone away after 1500 km. They dust quite a lot, bit more than OEM, I expected it though so it doesn't bug me.

Initial bite is ever so slightly less than OEM but once you get deeper on the pedal they can get quite aggressive.

I'm happy with my purchase, although hawks probably would have been less expensive. I just really wanted that initial bite and something I could autocross with

Corksport pads...they're actually a good compromise between OEM and performance pads. More bite than the hawk hps's, less dust than OEM, less fade than OEM under hard braking.
