Will there be a list of donators? That may (or may not) encourage others to donate. Also how about setting up two or three levels of donators? ie. Platinum Members being those who donated more than $100, Gold Members (LOL) donating more than $50, less than $100, Silver less than $50, more than $25, etc.?

I doubt there will be tax receipts :D

Donations being made at the meets, in person? If so, who is the sole recipient that we can trust? Doesn\'t look like TM3 is able to make all meets. Xenon? Myself (heh heh)... j/k not me!!! I\'m too slow to make off with the money... :p

Well I have personally put in my own $160 into the club to get promotions and stuff going. I\'m not exactly donating it, but I\'m recycling the money.

Example, so far there has been a $40 profit from selling the decals. I plan to put that money and get our club a banner so that we have some sort of sign at big events like Meet of the Mazdas and DarKnights. I think a banner is a worth while investment, it would make us look good and help promotions a lot.

You got it man! ;) (that and my $20 a few days ago).

The way I see it is I will save at LEAST that on the tint when I go, so why not pitch in here.

Xenon or TM3 want to comment on the above? I would push for the list of donators, that way, members won\'t think \"no one\'s gonna donate so I\'m not gonna\" but if they see the list then they\'ll feel at least a little bit encouraged to donate. and to maintain privacy, we can set up a \"level\" category on that list instead of showing exact dollar amounts.

As for donating in person, I am unsure if the PayPal link on our forum, even tho it says Canadian Funds, will it still charge to credit card as U.S. dollars? All my PayPal transactions that went onto credit card were charged as USD. In the end I end up paying like 5 to 7% more than the original amount being PayPal\'ed. :(

Thanks to those who have donated so far.

Xenon has a little extra from the stickers as he had mentioned plus his own that he\'s puting in for club promotions, etc.

Donations can be made in person, I think to Xenon to myself, I haven\'t been able to come out to many meets yet, but I\'m still here.

I will make a list of those who donate and post it. I\'ll think about the level thing... I mean, there isn\'t really a hierarchy within the club, I don\'t want to say someone is a gold member like they\'re more important then a regular member because they\'ve contributed more to the club financially. But a list is good for honourable mention at the very least.

With the donations that I receive via paypal or in person that I collect, I will be using it to cover the web costs. Even if it\'s a small amount, it will still help. If I do receive an overwhelming amount that exceeds the web costs, the money will be kept for club purposes. Some possibilities are to move to a better web host service provider, or to expand our club in other ways through promotion, etc.

Ooops I totally missed this post by TM3 (sorry to PM you about the issue you already mentioned here).

I would like to modify my suggestion to \"Donator\'s list showing only the handle name of the TorontoMazda3.com member\" :)

I will accept donations at all our events that I can attend to. Donations, unless other wise requested, will go to our website hosting costs.

Donations can also be made for:
Events & Promotions
TM3 Member\'s Fund (a slush fund that will be kept to subsidize for Member\'s outings)

An example of where the TM3 Member\'s Fund will be used: At Meet of the Mazdas, there was a $7.50 Entrance fee into the park. In future years, the TM3 Members Fund will subsidize some or all of the cost with the donations in the fund. This fund has not yet been fully prepared. Until the fund is setup, any donations to this fund will go to webhosting costs.
