Hey guys, new to the forum here. Just wanted to drop a line and say HEY. I EXIST! Currently the very proud owner of my gorgeous '08 GT hatch affectionatly known as Jen, and (aside from chewing through #3 mounts like it's her day job) I love it to bits. Joined mainly to just chat and meet up with fellow m3 lovers, and of course try to get some advice on that pesky upper mount problem.

So far she's got a set of lightweight gold 7 spoke mags, with Bridgestone potenza's wrapped around the front, and just some cheap tire in the back (kick that ass out!) coilovers suspension that's just about due for some adjustments, needs more low thanks to the lowpro Bridgestones, a very throaty (semi customized, for positioning of filter and sound) cai, hid headlights, eyelids, carbon wrap hood and roof, as well as blacked taillights and some stereo.

What she needs: a stage 2 clutch, exhaust and header (planning on the vibrant long tube 4-2-1 and the corksport power back exhaust and high flow cat) a light engine tune for 91 would be nice, even though the mzr 2.3 doesn't really have the compression to need it, thinking about doing a brake swap from a speed 3, if anyone around here has done that advice would be welcome. Rear sway bar and links, and stiffer motor mounts all around.

Of course still new here so I'll take a look around see what's been done, what hasn't, what can and can't ect. Really hoping to find some solid advice on the bloody #3 mount though. Have gone through 2 so far, and snapped a set of studs out of the block.

welcome

Step 1. Un-name said car
Step 2. Buy after market RMM (rear motor mount, assuming that's what you meant by #3 mount or any mount for that matter) c-pe, JBR or Cork Sport to name a few

Welcome aboard!

I'm assuming your mount issue is from replacing them with OEM ones? Replace it with an aftermarket one, like boyracer has suggested, and you should be good :)

welcome.

the compression doesnt matter so much. what matters is ignition timing. u want to go higher octane so that when u up the timing (aka tune), the higher octane fuel is less likely to pre-ingnite too early due to advanced timing causing knock in the engine. more timing equals better burn and more pressure, meaning more powa! there are limits, and if u go over them, u will go zoom zoom boom. rofl.

Hi! Cool car, welcome to the forum. Please don't ever refer to your Mazda3 as an M3 again. :P

As if no one knows that when people on a mazda forum say M3 they're referring to a Mazda3 not a BMW M3

M3 would have to be the proper acronym anyway.

No its not the rear mount that's the issue (although I do plan on putting in an aftermarket one) but the upper mount on the passenger side that bolts to the side of the block they wear out way to fast and I can't seem to find an aftermarket one for that side

That's kinda what I was thinking when I posted it

My passenger side mount blew up too. Replaced it with the JBR PMM and it's great.
