Im reading a lot of forum posts since im planning on replacing my front control arms (they need replacing - torn bushings) with Moog parts from roxkauto.
I also have a leaking front strut that needs to replaced. Im looking at getting the koni strt.t's and i thought while im at it i might well replace all the struts. Id like little more performance out of my suspension and i plan to keep the car a long time. (No plans for autox this is my daily driver and my wife drives an ancient 93 Honda Accord so needless to say we tske the m3 everywhere instead.
However a lot of places on line are online package deals with koni str.t struts and H&R springs. I gues this is a good idea to really take advantage of the koni struts performance - even though i really wasnt planning on lowering the car But if the H&R springs only drop it approx an inch i guess i can live with that (my concern is winter driving and we go up to a cottage offen with a xirt driveway so i dont really want to give up a lot of clearnace.
But i was just reading another post and some ppl said my insurnace might be void if my car is lowered ??? Not sure if that makes sense but that would definitely be a deal breaker for me. I dont want higher premiums just because i upgraded all the old//broken suspension bit and the car just happens to be an inch lower.
Any input would be helpful.
Fyi have a 07 m3 hatchback 2.3 GT w. 145k kms. Not sure if that matters at all.
