I have 2004 Mazda 3,2.3L, Manual transmission, Hatchback. I have ECU with corroded pins going to the throttle body and need to replace it- throttle body is limp. I'd like to find a used one to save $ and have it reprogrammed. My PN is L373 18 881C E6T52275H1. I found one very close in PN L373 18 881E E6T52294H. Both are off a 2004 2.3L manual trans Mazda. Will Mazda service be able to reprogram this PN for my car

you need to take the car to the dealer with the pcm you had in it. they will download your cars data, as long as the new pcm will accept it and all the pins are set up the same, you are good to go. but they can not download or connect just to the pcm. they need the car.

Apparently the PN was a good match. I installed, and Mazda reflash it with my old PCM/ECU. Works great! The part I bought off ebay saved me over $700

From my experience with PCM's, as long as it came from the same year and motor it'll work. Now the plugs must obviously be the same if you're trying to pull one from a different vehicle, but all manufacturers are different. This method works with Dodge trucks pre-2001.
