Hello,
My Mazda 3 I 2006 left rear side is making a banging sound. It's rear left shock mount is broken.
They said a shock mount doesn't come individually, but along with a shock absorber. A similar thread suggest the OP to ask you for the shock mount part.
Can you please let me know if you have a rear shock mount that I can buy?
Thank you
Ram

Yes, you can buy the mount by itself, I had mine replaced a couple months ago.
Its about $50 for the part.
My guess is either your strut needs to be replaced as well or they are trying to push a Monroe quik-strut....

ramya if the shock/strut needs replacing they should be done in pairs. If it's just the mount then just get the mount from dealer or 3rd party. The mounts are weak points in these cars.

Thanks for the replies. Mechanic told me I should replace just the shock mount.
I have found the parts here http://www.autopartsway.ca/PartDetails.cfm?924-412/D18/Mazda/2006/3/i/2L-L4/allB/Suspension/Shocks-and-Struts/Shock-Mount/pagenum1/tabS but the picture does not show the mount so I was not sure if its the right part. Also the description says it's a "Rear Right Upper Shock Mount", in my case left mount is broken. Does the side (left/right) matters for the shock mount?
Can someone pls recommend me a physical store where I can drop by and pick this up? Don't want to wait for shipping
Thanks all

You need to jump on the phone and start calling places to see if they have one in stock... dealerships, Canadian Tire, Part Source, Benson's, junkyards...
There is a bunch for ya good luck.

Right and left are the same part.
Parts Source should have this in stock or be able to get it next day.

Are oem rear shocks better than aftermarket? I hit a speedbump yesterday, car is making a ton of noise! I had my friend look at the car and he said the right rear shock is cracked needs to be replaced. We went to Canadian Tire and they have the shock and mounts for $120 each side. Just wondering if that's a decent enough price for aftermarket shocks. Friend is going to call mazda dealership today to see what oem prices would be. My car is 2006 Mazda 3 GT.. I actually already replaced the front shocks in October.

It all depends on the brand because each one will hold a different standard of quality.
Names like KYB, Monroe, Bilstein are all good names and known for quality and reliability.
You'll also find some cheaper ones with unknown brands which I would avoid.
I'm not sure what brand the OEM ones are, but your normally pay a premium for OEM parts, when a lot of the time they are simply rebranded parts.
