Turbo

Hey Mazda world...
My name flacon from Brooklyn oh. I have a Mazda 3 2008 HB 2.3 engine and I would like to install a turbo to my car. I don't know where to start. I see some kits on ebay from $700 up to $1000 dose any body knows if these are any good? And how would this be programmed to the OLD computer?

I don't think you understand how much work is required to turbo a car. The turbo alone could cost you the entire price of that kit, and because you are relying on an eBay kit is proof that you're in way over your head.

Not trying to be rude, but you're far better off buying a turbo car.

Oh the number 1 thing to do before installing a turbo kit is READ. Read everything you can find on turbos in general and then get specific about installing them on our cars.

Even if you end up having someone else do the work, a modification such as this really requires that you understand how it all works or you're just going to be throwing money down the drain.

... or like someone else suggested.... buy a car that already has a turbo.
the Mazdaspeed3 I hear is a great option.
All the extra money you will have spend on parts and labour I don't think is worth it.. unless you do plan on doing most if not all the work yourself like Hyperion.

go buy a mazdaspeed3 turbo manifold
buy a turbo
attach turbo to manifold and attatch to car
get piping coupled up ( filter on turbo with compressor going to intake ( dont worry about the maf, tis good enough to read positive boost pressure))
START that bitch up and rip!
