I noticed no one really speaks of them however they are quite a large franchise. Do they do good jobs? Are they expensive? Thanks. I want to get my car tinted however I dont think I will be able to get it done till at least late in the fall though due to cash flow. (I just changed insurance carriers and between the first double payment and my old insurance company still taking $$ almost $600 went out the door in a matter of days!!!!!!

They are generally not well thought of in terms of tinting or anything else for that matter.

Take the time and do some research on tint, then find a place using your film choice that falls within your budget. If you go cheap and you find your windows are purple in a couple of years, have you really saved any money?

Guys on TintDude.com seem to like these brands: llumar, solargard, suntek, huper optik, vkool.

How much would I be looking at for a 3 sedan (Good quaility tint) Cost is a non-factor as long as I\'m not getting ripped off, ie the dealer will do it for me for ~250.

I had my sedan done with Solargard for $200 cash. I think a few of the guys here had their tint done for between $225 and $250.

Edit: The dealership is adding a markup to the price they quote you. See if you can find out where they get it done and take it there yourself. Do some research before you get anything done though.

because I paid cash for my car, the dealer said they will do it for cost.

some say Tint King is good, some say they bad, I think depend on which location.

I just went to Thornhill Tint in RH, a GB place that organized at M3F, but I missed the deadline:( , but the price still good, $230 cash w/ warranty, I think $30 over the GB.

Richard at Thornhill Tints does really good work.

If you live in the east end I can hook you up with a great place. I got mine done in Oshawa. They did a great job and it cost $220 cash. That includes the sunband on the front window and the insertion of an alloy into the film to help reflect the sun of the windows. I got 15% all around and it looks great.

whereabouts? Basically I would like regular tint (excellent quality mind you). I would like to keep the front and back door windows to look like they are close to the same % (I dont want the car to look like a pontiac montana where the front door windows have very little tint and the rest are privacy). A friend of mine had his car done at Tint King in Oshawa. I think he paid 175 cash for a 2 door SC1. The did a great job imo.

Mike.

Remember that because the windshield won\'t be tinted, it\'ll let in more light so the front driver and passenger windows will look a bit lighter by default. If you decide on tint, do the same % all the way around, I think it looks better that way. :D

I had a car done at Tint King in Oshawa (Park Road) about 3 years ago. No complaints at all.

My bro in law went to tint king in oshawa and i must agree they did a good job. Don\'t tend not to work with the illegal tints there for some reason. I called them asking if i could get 15% all around and they wouldn\'t do it. My bro-in-law did 35% all around on a pontiac vibe for 200 at tint king in Oshawa. I think it\'s Park and bloor. All in all they did a great job.

Ya, my GF just bought a cavalier(she loves the 3, but she couldn\'t say no to the price after GM employee discount, grad, clearence discount, and a 2500 litre gas card) She asked them if they would tint her car. They said they use Tint king in Oshawa on bloor for all of there dealer applications. I know that if a dealer is using them, they must be pretty good. I think Tint king also has a life time warranty against discolor and bubbles. My GF\'s car is getting tinted tommorow. I\'ll take a look at how well they did on her car and make my ultimate descision from there. I have a feeling I will get it done there, I have heard good things about that specific location in the past as well.

How does the 35% look all around? Is it pretty dark? I want a nice balance between dark and clear. I dont really know how the shades work.

I have an imagestation link in my sig, check it out, I went with 22% all around. From the outside it looks dark but once you\'re in the car it really doesn\'t look dark at all. I have heard some people say \"find the tint you like on the wall and go one shade darker\". Personally, I wouldn\'t go with anything higher than 30% because it starts looking really light after that. My cousin has 38% on his Subaru Outback and you really don\'t even notice it.

In the end it depends what you\'re after, I got mine to cut down on the interior heat and keep prying eyes out of the car. If you\'re just looking for something more subtle, go for 35%.
