From my personal perspective...

I\'ve never been to car club meets before, other than our own Toronto Mazda3 meets. Meeting of Mazdas 2004 was an awesome experience! There were people young and old attending and it definitely was worth the drive and time!

The cruise from AMC Courtney Park to Valens was great, plus a whole lot of fun since every one of us had an FRS radio. We kept together as a team and there were no problems giving a heads-up to fat mike, MAZDA3_MIKE, and bubba1983 (plus their friends in non-Mazda cars) that we were nearing their location and they easily merged in with our cruise line up. We entered Valens 14 Mazda3\'s strong!

EDIT: hey i just want to to let you know that the our friends were also driving mazda protege\'s . as you know i still cant post on tm3.com . plz dont take this the wronge way they just wanted everyone to know they own mazdas too
thanks mike

SPEED KILLS BUT YOU GET THERE FASTER

TOProtege welcomed us on the FRS radio and when we arrived at the actual grounds location, they were shocked that we had so many members attending (as Xenon stated, they were expecting only four or five of us total).

We lined our 3\'s up and some of us started cleaning up the car; dusting, shining up the wheels, wiping off brake dust, etc. Xenon unvailed our club banner and pegged it into place, on the ground, in the middle of our parked car line up.

More and more Mazda\'s were rolling in, RX-7\'s/8\'s, Protege5\'s, Miata\'s, Mazdaspeeds... it was a very nice sight. The TOProtege club was huge in attendance. I did not bother counting the total number of Protege\'s there (inclusive of Protege, Protege5, Mazdaspeed, and Mazdaspeed MP3).

A few of the cars from each club/model displayed their engine bays and/or trunk/cargo bays. A lot of colour accented engines and a few turbo charged as well. I only noticed one Miata which was super charged, owned by a much older gentleman, very nice to talk to. He auto-X\'s in his Miata quite often he states.

There were a couple of Ford Probes, one Subaru WRX STi, and a slammed 4x4 (was it a Mazda truck?). Also, a pocket bike was in attendance (one of the Protege5 owner\'s).

Our BBQ was successful with burgers and sausages. We had chicken wings as well as chicken breasts but they never saw the fire (did we BBQ the wings? I might have missed them). Thanks to Hypothrml and Teambedlam for majority of the \"hot nuts\" torture to cook the meat for our Mazda3 group.

Special congrats to Fabian (Sunlight Silver Sedan) for winning second place in the Mazda3/Mazda6 category (yes, it was not a happy moment when the winner of the best Mazda3/Mazda6 was a 6 owner).

I had a fun filling day as well as filling for my eyes from all the eye candy (cars, the cars I say!). :)

I didn\'t edit the pics to blur/block license plate numbers... too much work!

Thanks to the following members of TorontoMazda3.com for attending! As promised, you all will get your beer the next time we meet up (I know a few of you are quite far out west from the GTA but we can plan something, sometime);

xenon, teambedlam, methodyst, hypothrml, mazda3_mike, profusion, david3, autoexe, newlook, fat mike, bubba1983, midnightfxgt, and billyfo... what the heck, fabian too even tho he\'s never really participating in our posts. :)

i godda say....simply AMAZING day, weather couldn\'t be any better...luckily for the trees!!
As i have probably said before, this is my first car...and i havn\'t been involved in anything of this sort before, but it was so much fun. The T.O guys are grreat...and you can count me in on comin\' down for future meets for sure (the one on the 25th i think it is, i\'m so there)....it was such a surreeal feeling to see all 12 3\'s all turning the corner onto highway 97 and all of us dashing to get in our cars to step in line, then showing up to valens 14 strong....WOW!!

so jus to repeat myself again, thanks alot guys for welcoming me to participate in yer club even tho i am not a member...but am hoping to become at least a \"part time\" member....as it is a little bit of a distance to get to every meet being i live in kitchener.

one more thing....xenon...if you havn\'t sold that bug deflector already by the next meet...name your price...i\'ll take it off your hands....here in kitchener at my dealer, they go for $80+tax installed...

yeah, the meet was great, I think because it was the 1st time for TOP to organize the meet, seems not too well organize, individual clubs had their own, I expected they would have more conversations between clubs instead only when performing the prize handout.

but our 3 own pre-meet, cruise to the park were very interesting, I bet many passing by would question why there were so many 3 lining up. I only took a few pic cause I forgot to charge my DC. I would say my car was the dirtiest car in the whole meet:D . I did wash my car on Sat, but seem my workplace and especially my home have alot of dust (nearby my home still under construction:( ).

when I walked around the \"parking lot\", I heard someone talking between their friends said us didn\'t mod the cars. I think why mod a lots when we have a good car, sadly, they are Chinese, from Taiwan or China cause they speaked Mandarin(sp), I am Chinese from HK, but feel shame for them cause mostly Chinese rice their cars.

anyway, I enjoy it very much, hope next yr one would be better, and hopefully will attend our 5th meet.

I noticed there wasn\'t much interaction between clubs. I think the best way to solve that is to provide a central hang out spot. This can be done by either having:

- all the BBQ\'s together and tables around that
Or
- ditch the potluck format and have attendies pay for food that the organizers cook and hand out.

The latter idea is the way that I have run many a Scout Camp. Nothing says mingle like a lineup for food. Well perhaps a line for the bathroom....

If I recall correctly, we moved our BBQ :p

Opps. I guess we are to blame for the seperation then.

Hi everyone,

When our group drove in and I saw all the Mazda 3\'s lined up with all your wheels turned the same way, all shiny, and all lined up really well, I was very impressed. From the reading I\'d done on your board before MOM, I thought maybe 5 or 6 would come. I\'m really glad that many more of you came out, and from the sounds of it had a great time!

Overall I think the day went really smoothly, and I enjoyed looking at all the different rides and all the ways that people choose to express themselves with their cars. This meet was about Mazda owners who love their rides, and it showed. The only thing missing, as someone already said, was that there was not a lot of interaction between the different clubs.

I\'m not an official representative of TOProtege, I\'m just a very active member there, but I want to thank all of you for coming out and sharing MOM with us! I\'m looking forward to next year!

Kevin
