My battery died completely and after i boosted it started to act up. The steering would turn and stop, turn and stop. And a light in the dash would show( steering wheel and exclamation mark) and the cabin lights were dimming. Ive never experienced this so im kinda worried, is it my alternator or my battery??

I have a 2010 ms3 with tech

What caused the battery to die ? Could be the alternator is not charging the battery.

Original 2010 battery? May be time to change it.

The battery needs to be charged up a little afterwards. See this all the time at the shop. If your battery is old, and isn't holding a charge well, the car doesn't have enough power to run the power steering (electric power steering). Too much draw from the battery, and the car starts to cut the power steering to stay running. So either charge the battery fully, or replace the battery if it's already on it's way out.
