Trunk latch issue

One cold day I realized my trunk light on my hatch wasn't turning on, figured it was something to do with the cold. Well its not so cold out anymore and it is still being tempter mental when the trunk light wants to come on when the hatch is opened. This issue also makes my car think that the hatch isn't open so when I open my hatch first to put stuff in it before getting in, the car will lock itself again which is pretty annoying. Not sure if this is electrical or some part of the latch just being kind of gummy
