Yeah, go have to get your ECE diploma from college. It's a 2 year program, pretty easy. But that allows you to work with babies 3 months- 10 years old. So, if you end up working with a younger, or older, age group you wouldn't have to worry about potty training. :bang
lol, it's fun though. You definately have to LOVE kids to do it everyday.
i donno if its only me noticing this, but at my college its all beautiful girls taking that program! i dont mind kids but only ages 4-7 cuz those kids are usually cute and funny, skip 8-11 cuz those kids are usually annoying, 12+ easier to talk to and goof around with. i would love to take ECE but i donno if i could do it for a living, but eventually i will have to wen i have my own kids :P

I never get overtime (not now anyways) so it doesn't matter to me. You still have that massive accumulation of vacation hours? Or you use it up for your snowboarding trip?

The Oakville location is great. I was being calling "new girl" (BAHAHA) by one person until I said "Hi my names Lizz" and then everyone picked up on my name and were really friendly!
But it's a very professional atmosphere as well as tremendously welcoming. Never felt more comfortable before in a job! Everyone helped me out when they saw I was struggling at times.

Good that you're liking it so far.. :) Yup, It's a great place to work and gain experience. I was speaking to our engineer in the Markham office and he did say that people here are "too nice." He mentioned that in his previous jobs, people are swearing and yelling at people. I'm glad that it's not the case here. :) By the way, how many members are in the engineering department over there??
Just give it a couple of months until your evaluation period's done, then you can always request a transfer. Although, I should say, the Mississauga office is sort of like a warehouse turned to an office. :chuckle But still, very nice people, I use to work with a few of them there. :)
Anyway, good luck and I hope to see you in company gatherings.. I believe there will be one this summer. Some kind of a picnic with raffles and stuff.. :) :) :)

That's awesome... congrats on your designation! :D
I gradded in 2009 with a major in marketing and a minor in entrepreneurship & innovation. Don't let my grad year fool ya, I'm rather old lol
Thanks!
Cool, fellow Business mgmt/Ted Rogers school of mgmt alumni! Do you guys ever go to the alumni events? :chuckle
I really need to go back to school... 27's not too old for that, right?? :(
No way. 27 is still young and you can always go back to school to sharpen your skillset.

You're never too old to learn and you're never too old to go back to school.
When I used to teach and tutor, I had lots of students who were over 27. I've had 40 y/o students

I've always had trouble deciding what I want to pursue. My plan had always been to continue my education but I found it impossible to pick one direction. Next thing you know it's almost 10 years later and I'm still in the same situation.

Oui oui! I've been a guest speaker a couple of times ;) Otherwise, I don't really go to the alumni events. Do you?

Some people may tell you to "just take something instead of hesitating forever." Although this statement has some merit, I know far too many people who rushed into an education program only to switch it again and again and, sometimes, not even completing any. Following on what n00bMeiSter noted, try to take something that can lead to a job that you won't hate... or that you can love, if possible.

Damn, that's pretty sick. I've never been to one. I've only been once with the CMA/Ryerson opening of a new CMA lounge, that's about it.

some people will take three steps walking up a flight of stairs. others including myself will take one at a time. don't be discouraged that you're not going up as fast, but be encouraged that you are walking up. the stairs in your life could represent anything from school, occupation, and even cars. Just find your pace...

totally agree (except for the cars part, even tho this is a car forum, and I love modding, I don't consider cars a goal...)
you're taking a few steps backwards in order to be able to keep going to end up where you want. No point on getting somewhere quickly if you're not happy when you get there.
at 27 you have your whole life ahead of you, and it's way easier to change your path now compared to a few years down the road where other commitments start to really get in the way (unless you have a wife, kids, dog, house etc. now in which case yeh it's hard...)
