Hey guys found this link and must say I am super excited about a possible CX3 Speed.
However I don't like the rumor of a merger between Fiat/Chrysler. I think that is a horrible idea.
What is everyone else's thoughts on this?

I'll never understand these super fast suv/cuv vehicles....
I remember when I drove the BMW x6 with like 400hp or something.... It's WAY too heavy of a vehicle for that. Yes it had nice suspension and nice brakes and sure it was fun in a straight line... but with the centre of gravity where it is that thing was scary in corners.

I agree to an extent. But the Cx3 isn't that much bigger than the gen3 3's...a little taller, but if you look at the concept car pictures the Cx3 it's fairly low for an suv/cuv.

Ugh, CS really bugs me with their constant perpetuating of rumours which have no real basis. Go to the Jalopnik story on this supposed merger, and it's all conjecture from some supposed Sergio Marcchionne quote where he implied he might be open to further merging Fiat-Chrysler with another company. Jalopnik then runs down potential companies, ending up at Mazda by process of elimination. It's pure conjecture with no real basis, yet it gets repeated by CS for content.
Ever time there's some new Mazdaspeed rumour, up it goes - "What do you think about this?". I think it's a rumor. Give me some facts.

I 100% agree. There's no Mazdaspeed CX-3 in the works. Before putting any money into R&D into a performance CUV, Mazda will put more performance into the 3 and potentially the 6 and MX-5.

It's really irritating how there's so many Speed-related rumors recently. I just wanna get some solid facts straight from Mazda on what the next Speed vehicle will be.

Personally...I won't report something unless it is fact. Something written on paper from the source, something tangible I can see and it's got to be legit.
We knew the CX3 was coming. The Speed things...I cannot confirm. We all want one. A turbo something. It will happen but I'm not sure when or what.
I use Mazda.com news releases, my boss and my spec guides for Intel. When I know. You will know.
Because racecar.

Mazda needs to a) bring back the 6 wagon and b) make that wagon a speed.

The 6 wagon is still being sold, just not in North America .

And that's why n/a sucks regardless I don't believe a speed 6 wagon exists produced from the factory but like I said that's what I would love to see

To be fair here... I loved a lot of things about my Mazdaspeed3... but quality wasn't one of them. :)

There's a lot more to the MS3 than just the engine. :) Of course, some of that includes the garbage rear struts... :D
No need to get into a whole long discussion about it, and I really did love driving the car. That joy of driving... the "zoom zoom" factor, is what made the issues worth dealing with and frankly, are what would still bring me to buy another Mazda in the future... but there WERE issues.
Rear struts blew after 2 years. Then replacements blew after another 2 years.
Turbo replaced under warranty.
Headlight replaced under warranty.
Sway bar bushings went early and were a huge pain to replace in the front leaving me to deal with clunking noises in the suspension.
Rear sway bar bolt wasn't tightened properly from the factory.
Door stop bolts not tightened properly from the factory.
Throttle body dying.
And the big one was the rust. Oh... the rust. :(
But again... ZOOM ZOOM!! :D

Ah. Well... I wouldn't know... but I kinda hope not. ;) I know the turbo issues were across the board for the engine so they cropped up on the CX7 and MS6 as well. Mazda actually extended the warranty on them because of that.
As for the shocks... I just figure they weren't well tested for Canadian winters or something.
The other issues... yeah, they'd apply to regular Mazda3's as well. :)
