I need to replace the front struts in my 07 GT and have had a quote of around $900 from the local Mazda dealer and around $700 from my local mechanic who I trust, presumably both just using OEM parts
Before proceeding what I'm wondering does anybody know of a shop in the GTA that can supply and install better better struts perhaps Koni or Bilstein?

Just the labour should be max 2 hours. I could do it in under 1 with a lift, probably 1.5 with a jack and stands. So $220 @dealership. But that leaves $700 for front struts... Rear shocks are $220 each, so maybe $300ish for fronts?

Look at rockauto for the parts, I just ordered both rears and a mount for $135 shipped, I think you can get quick struts for around $125 a side.

Are oem rear shocks better than aftermarket? I hit a speedbump yesterday, car is making a ton of noise! I had my friend look at the car and he said the shock is cracked needs to be replaced. We went to Canadian Tire and they have the shock and mounts for $120 each side. Just wondering if that's a decent enough price for aftermarket shocks. Friend is going to call mazda dealership today to see what oem prices would be.
