A PhD student where I work (u of t aerospace) has put some really interesting videos together regarding automotive aerodynamics. They are pretty interesting so I thought I would share. The video I am linking to looks at the MR2, RX7, Supra and the Scion FRS. He will be doing more...if anyone has a die cast model of a Mazda 3 or Mazdaspeed 3, let me know and we can get in the tunnel.
Enjoy (Grays Garage)

Cool stuff!
Made me feel like I was in a cooler version of my CFD class when I was in school haha

Very cool, Jeff. Didn't know you worked for U of T Aerospace... that's awesome. I'm an alumni (not aerospace obviously). :)

FD22 I would assume you had seen some of this before being an engineer. haha. You to RTEnthusiast
I liked that it was explained in such a way that I can understand it not being an engineer. My die cast CLA45 should be going in the tunnel later this week.

Yup, definitely some familiar stuff here
Nice! Should be interesting to see the results of how that matches up to the four cars he already had in there.

If I recall correctly I remember seeing somewhere on this forum that Jeff-TheBiz had a diecast model of the first gen mazda3 sedan.... if he wants to volounteer.
but either way, I love wind tunnels. I wish there was a full sized one available in Toronto open to the public...

Sounds good Jeff-TheBiz I'll talk to graham (student) and set it up. You're at MOT correct? We're at dufferin and steeles so it's close by. The only concern is that 4 pins need to be installed in the bottom to hold the car in place. These cars are actually in the tunnel upside down. If you don't mind 4 small holes in your collectable we can get it done. I also understand if you would prefer not to. Haha

Hey guys... Our student at (Grays Garage) is about to start a new project on an RX-7. He will be posting tutorials on many aspects of the build so I figured I would update the thread for those who may want to follow this build including a full engine swap.
