Has anyone noticed a weird wine/creaking noise when turning the wheel. This is especially audible in parking and slow speed maneuvers. I am also hearing some loud knocks and click when I first move the car forward or backward, seems to be coming from the suspension or steering linkages.

The car is a robot. :)

Yep power steering is causing the mechanical noises near the front wheels. Pretty cool to hear it from the outside right by the wheel.

As for the loud knocking/clicking, it may be due to the cooler mornings now and the parts are still stiff when the car first moves. Kinda, if you want to think of it this way, like us as we get older, resting in a single position for a long time and then finally moving... bones cracking here and there... KINDA like that.

It\'s a lot louder on a mini. Its like the car is about the transform.

maybe into a real sized car!

Thanks for the welcome dredd2099 :)

You guys are right, i know that the steering is electro-hydrolic and it does have the right to make a bit of noise, but ut was not nearly as loud when tha car was new as it is now. My car sometimes sounds like a big old creaky wooden door...LOL.

Surprisingly, my dad\'s car does that too, but not all of the time. Mine on the other hand is relatively quiet.

Where are you abouts, cebo? Maybe a few of our guys can meet up with you in a mall parking lot or something to see what\'s up with the noise. :)

I feel your pain, i have an annoying knock/click noise once i initially move it out of park.
i do not know where it stems from - seems to be intermittent right now.
unsure if its related to the suspension or transmission.
hard to diagnose if i can\'t make it do it on a regular basis.

I\'m in Waterloo wtom. I think it would not be a bad idea to compare noises :)

Interesting! The club member who was driving his car while I was standing beside it, hearing the power-steering, he\'s also from the area; Kitchener.

How\'s the power steering fluid level? Sometimes if it\'s low you\'ll hear the motor whine extra loudly....

I do find the suspension groans when you throw some people in the back seat. It\'s kind of embarrasing actually, a brand new car shouldn\'t groan so loudly when you put passengers in it. It\'s only when they first get in though...... :sarc

The flid level is good, just checked 5 days ago.

As far as the rear suspension goes, it thankfuly does not groan when people get in.

!!!FIXED!!!

My dad has been having the problem on and off for the past couple of months. His first visit to the dealership was fruitless as they could not hear the problem. He took it today to have his oil changed and I told him to mention the problem again to the Service Rep. He did, they did and they fixed it...the noise is gone (so far). According to the work order they replaced the shock tower mounts and bearings and did an alignment...all free of charge under warranty. And the dealership that fixed this problem...Avante Mazda of Toronto

The noise is caused by a noisy bearing in the front strut tower. So the parts that needed to be replaced are the front upper mount and the bearing just below it. I guess that\'s what happens when you make stuff out of plastic.:sarc

OK, I spoke too soon, the noise is back, but it isn\'t as loud as before. :( It\'s strange that it\'s only happening to his car, not mine, and mine was built 1 month before his.

Is it a creaking noise that you\'re hearing? It almost sounds like the driveshafts are noisy.

It\'s only when the wheels are turned and the car is moving forward.

Hi pals. I hear a creaking noise when turning at low speeds(this is NOT the electroassist power whine shit). Need to do some more testing.
