... still ****en hurts me... stupid me forgetting about added weight with three other ppl in the car, continued driving over a small hump in the middle of the lane. Forgot the Sport is a low-profile... BAM!!!! Just that sound alone was a shot in my heart. Immediately popped into N, hand brake, jumped out, checked under the car from all four sides...

It\'s nothing major, I just had an emotionless blank-stare all the way from Seneca @ King where it happened back to Markham area to a buddies\' house where he jacked up my car to check it out...

I think I\'ll die of heart attacks if I lower the car...

EDIT: So if I had lowered with aftermarket springs, I would have lost a few parts. Even a drop in 1\" ... :(

Thanks, MazdaTree, was your incident on Steeles? or within the Pacific Mall parking lots?

Better to look cuz you don\'t want to drag anything along the ground when driving, just in case. :)

My first reaction was along the lines of \"F*CK!!!\" ... also because I\'ve been in or witnessed accidents in the past and it\'s the same damn metal-impact sound and it just makes me cringe. It just doesn\'t sound good at all.

The damage doesn\'t seem too bad, except for the first photo, I\'ve never seen a chunk taken out of the underbody. Fortunately, it looks be only plastic.

Lowering your car wouldn\'t have made it any worse because the springs would control your ride height (compression and to an extent rebound). Now had your shock had been bad and you had your car lowered then you\'d most likely have much more damage.

Yeah, it probably sounded a lot worse than it is. It\'s only cosmetic and appears that the only thing damaged was the plastic on the underbody.

I can feel your pain though, one night I had to pull over onto the shoulder of the road on highway 86 in Waterloo. I didn\'t notice a chunk of cinderblock had been dropped there. I almost died when I hit that bad boy. Luckily it didn\'t take anything out, I was freaking until I saw the undercarriage the next morning. I had nightmares of oilpan, or transmission pan punctures....

I feel your pain! I scraped mine in a touchless a while ago...thankfully, there was no damage. It freaked me out though. I got Avante to stick it on a hoist for me to check. Didn\'t cost me anything. Avante is great! :)

At least it\'s not a part of the body that visible.
