Just want to see what everyone uses. Ive been using the simoniz orbital for a while. Its ok but looking for something a bit better. I hear good things about the Dewalt polisher and its a decent price. Looks to even be the cheapest ive found so far. So if you could show me what you are using and give me your opinion. Does it work well. Is it easy and straight forward to use. any maintenance required. Are the pads or covers or what ever easy to buy And affordable. How often do you replace them. Does it get fine scratches out. Just some basic things im looking to find out and any other helpful info

Thanks in advance

i have a PC 7424xp

5.5 inch backing plate with

2x white, 2x green for polishing

4x black for applying wax/sealant (you can also use blue pads)

i soak the pads the dish soap and squeeze them out over clean water

i want to get the Griot's Garage DA polisher (stronger motor, longer cable) on eshine, but it's been on backorder for 6 months now

i also have a random orbital palm polisher from Princess Auto that uses the bonnet terry cloth and wool. i dont think the terry cloth bonnets cut paint, so i just use it to apply liquid wax lol

Meguiars too.
It works well. I also bought a 5" backing plate. It takes out fine scratches and easy to use. Pads are easy to clean.
You should also consider Griots polisher.

I will be buying this soon. Griot's Garage DA is super user friendly, but packs the power to do a good job. This kit is only $200 which is pretty solid for what you get.

I use Ammy NYC products for everything.

^ How's AMMO skin? I came across it still having 3/4 of a bottle each of my sealant/wax combo so I couldn't really justify it. Seems like an awesome product though.

All of the AMMO NYC stuff is amazing. It is a bit expensive, but I like what Larry stands for and I gladly support him. I use everything, Foam (Wash) with a 3 bucket method, Skin (Sealant), Creme (Carnauba Wax), Hydrate (Paint Moisturizer) and Spit (Spray Wax).

I will be using their Leveling Fluid and Jewelers Polish this summer to bring the paint back to its former glory.

I'm assuming you're looking at one of the Swirl BusterKits?? I'm thinking of ordering one myself.

The kits come with 3 pads of your choice, I believe.

Thx

Yellow to remove the most contamination after a long winter and all those swirls, orange to remove the haze, blue to apply various sealants or waxes and a micro fiber bonnet over a blue or black pad to polish things off.

Yellow is a really aggressive pad, if you don't need a lot of correction orange is more than enough, I personally like Meguiars Da microfiber cutting discs used with The Microfiber correction compound. If you need more than that your paint would be in really bad shape.

orange + white + green for polishing

my paint is still decent for a 3 year old car, and been only using white/green pads

less some fine scratches here or there my paint is in good shape. 2-3 clay bars a year with 3 coats of wax its held up good for 5 years old. but just want to get rid of those fine marks and make it look newer again. otherwise ive been please with how its been keeping.
