I was just wondering what the foot pounds of torque you should use for our wheel nuts? I have called several dealerships and I have got all different answers. Not sure how this can be if they all go by the same manual.

75-85 ft-lbs should be alright. i usually do 80 ft-lbs on the 21mm lug nut

**** thread is from 2004 ****
21 mm lug nuts are the ones on our cars right?
I checked the manual it said 60 something to 90 something ft-lbs of torque.
How come theres such a big range?
I've to check the torque setting on my wheels.
So the correct settings on a stock wheel is 80?
I just did mine down to 90 when I put my new rims on.

Not me. I use the OEM specs only. Don't want to over-torque those things.

I stick to 80lbs, and to those who go to higher amounts like 95-100 just be aware; there is no benefit to tightening them higher and on the otherhand you may be causing damage to the studs among other things.

07 Manual on page 7 - 11 states 66-86 ft/lb.
I use 76 which is right in the middle or a little more like 80.

When I was a mechanic for co-op, we just did 80 for cars and 100 for trucks. Never had an issue
