Hello all,

I'm just about to get new tires for my RX8 rims for my Gen 1 sedan.
I plan to lower the car using springs.....but don't know what kind of springs.

Question is what size tire do I get making sure I won't rub when the car is lowered.
225/45/18 or 225/40/18 ?

225/40/18 should be fine

It's hard to give a generic answer to a statement saying "when the car is lowered" because you really need to know exactly how low, before you start questioning tire size.

225/45/18 is generally a bit too beefy, specially if you're planning to be somewhat low. 225/40/18 should be good for you, but again, depends on what kind of springs you plan on lowering your car with.

For future inquiries like this, we have a special thread for it:

Then you should be just fine with 225/40 on those RX8's.
