Mystery oil leak at top of trans.

Hey guys,

I was doing an oil change today and to my dismay, I noticed the oil drip as seen in the first picture. It was pretty much coating the transmission so I wiped it off, drove around a bit, and that drip you see is the result. I don't think this is trans fluid though. Does it look like it could be spraying onto the trans somehow from another source? I noticed other parts surrounding this area were unaffected, and it seems as if this is the point of origin, yet it just doesn't quite look like trans fluid and more like oil to me.

Any ideas?

I don't know much at all about transmissions, but that sounds expensive. Am I right? Or is it something that can be replaced without removing the transmission?

I also have a leak on top of the auto transmission on my 2005 Mazda3, after checking I found the rust oil pipe (19-930, part# FNK119930A) was leaking. Here is the picture but check the connector from oil pump goes to transmission oil pipe.

Looks like it's changeable without pulling the trans out of the car but i never work on my own transmissions. Heres the blown apart for the MS3 manual.

I'm currently trying to do this repair and can't seem to get the shaft pivot seal assembly free from the transmission. I simply can't seem to pry the plate off of the trans. Anyone got any tips? The sealant used seems to have it glued on!
