Front springs loose?

So long story short. I bought new koni Orange shocks and struts and eibach pro kit springs. Once installed took the car for a drive and on the way home I heard a clunking sound. I put the car up on jacks and the springs are loose to the point I can spin them around on the strut. I've double checked all the part codes and everything checks out. So what I'm asking is Wtf has anyone else had an issue like this?

There should be a little step in the perch that stops this from happening. Under no circumstance should the coil be loose.

The spring is against the perch. I can spin the spring the opposite direction, but only when the car is in the air. Once the tires touch the spring is tight. The guys on the mazdaspeed forum said that the koni Orange are a longer shock and the pro kit springs tend to be a bit on the short side.
