Well \"hidseller\" from ebay sure pulled through EXACTLY as he said he would. Although sometimes his emails were VERY short and sometimes it seemed like more than one person was handling the email account. All in all, AWESOME job selling!

I won the auction on Oct 5th and he said I would receive on Friday 8th. BINGO! All the way from Hong Kong too! FedEx\'ed and NO extra charges on top (ie. customs or duties or taxes).

I didn\'t physically get the package until today (12th) due to long weekend and my not being able to bother with going to FedEx depot on Friday (heck I don\'t have a car to install these on!). So FedEx delivered (second attempt) to my door today.

Sa-weet!!!!

I think McCulloch is a reputable U.S. company for HID kits. Definitely a lot better than the China/Taiwan stuff.

As for plug and play... nah-ah mainly because of our stupid DRL system. I\'m gonna follow in the footsteps of 01AW ((what the heck is his handle, I can never remember it sorry) who also bought thru eBay from \"hidseller\") and go out to buy some extra parts and install an independant switch over on the left side of the steering column to control the HID\'s.

I\'ll bypass the DarRyL system and use my fog lamps as day-time lights if anything. I knew I got the fogs for some reason! :)

EDIT: Crap, I was talking as if I still have my car... DOH... above statement is in reference to my future 05 model Mazda3 Sport... :p

wtom,

You\'re not going to consider paying Speedstar $180 CDN for the installation and the rewiring of your DRLs to the fogs? Thats the price I was quoted over the phone when I asked if they would install NON XenonDepot kits. I am sure they can go lower once you go into the store and talk to them and show them the money $150 I would say is a fair price. Just a thought.

So no brokerage fees? That\'s sweet. What was the weight of the package?

Sweet! I want HIDs too...:(

Does McCulloch have a website? I\'ve never heard of them before prior to visiting M3F.

sooo im a lil slow on catching things....will the hid\'s still work of the auto light function, or does the auto lights idea jus get tossed out the window, and your back to manually wiht a switch...?

if you rewire or disable the DRLs, then no. Auto Light will still work. You are not touching the DRLs, you\'re simply getting the computer in your car to turn on a different set of lights for DRLs. Auto light will still kick in.

If it helps think of it this way, when Auto light turns your head lights on, it tells the car \"Turn on the Lowbeams\" and no \"Brighten the DRLs.\"

No matter what you do to the DRLs, your Auto Light will still turn on the headlight low-beams.

McCulloch website? McCulloch doesn\'t have an official web site that I know of but the installation manual has these two web sites listed; www.ggarage.com and www.genxco.com

EDIT: Okay NOT a good thing... above two web sites do NOT work as I\'d like... :(

wtom,

Thats cool, just giving naming you the options you got in terms of installation. ;)

So in total you spent around $300 + DIY installation for HIDs. Not a bad deal if you ask me.
