2010 GS 2.5L with 141K. I always use shell 87. More often than not, after filling up my car, the start up right after results in either the car cranking longer than normal, or the engine starting, having trouble, and then shutting off, stuttering, etc. This usually only happens every now and then when I fill up. Some times it does it and other times it does not. It has also happened a few times when I haven't gotten gas, and I'm starting the engine while its already warm.

I was reading that it may be the purge valve solenoid but I wanted others input as well

That is the symptoms and a sign of your purge valve is going. PM me if you need one?

I figure I won't have it replaced until it's absolutely necessary

Ive been having the same problem too, sometimes it starts just fine, stop for a drink or at home depot, get back in and it chokes and takes a few seconds to start. Doesnt do it on cold starts as much as it does it on warm starts. What does a purge valve normally run for?

If you don't have a CEL I wouldn't worry about the PVS (purge valve solenoid). Yet it doesn't mean it's not the PVS.
I have this problem in my 2012 GX everytime I turn off the engine quickly, I guess before it reaches normal operating temp. Next time I try to start it, it won't start, I have to actually give it gas... I've had this problem since the car was brand new so, a design flaw. Since I rarely shut the car off before it reaches operating temp, I'm not too concerned about it.

Same here. Definitely more likely to happen if I drove to the gas station (1km) in the morning, and fill up before operating temp. With that said, it'll still happen from time to time. As others have said, it's not really a problem if it happens rarely. Adds character I guess... No sense in wasting money if it's not a persistent issue

I used to have this problem as well. Upgrading my battery solved my issue however. Mine is also a 12' mz3.
