Anyone know where I can find a racing beat exhaust system locally? I've got the 2012 skyactiv. Don't really want to order from the US because of the crazy conversion and shipping/duties

Anyone locally would be bringing it in from the states and pricing aoyld be affected by exchange rate

Check with Nextmod

Yes NextMod.
Or check Mazda3revolution classified for a used one. Usually good prices when they go on sale.

check ebay . i looked into getting one shipped from racing beat and looked at buying from next mod . ebay was the cheapest option then racing beat then nextmod . but nextmod was only more expensive by $25 but they do all the work. if your lazy just go with nextmod.

I ultimately decided to just order straight from RB site. I'll probably take it to Jimmy from Street Performance because I hear he does great work

the rb axle back exhaust is very easy to install . no cutting or welding just bolts right in . the hardest part is taking the stock muffler off should only take 45-60 min depending on ur confidence and skill level.

Yes please. Been on the fence about getting this exhaust... seems kind of pricey... unless the sound is worth the cost. In my mind lol.

Which is exactly what I'm trying to look for.. something that is louder than stock but not ricey. Just some extra sound to remind me that I do indeed have my foot to the floor haha.

Check out the videos on YouTube of the mazdaspeed mufflers it's deep and quiet but you'll know it's there when you press the gas

Actually.. Saw a lot of people recommend it. But does the speed exhaust work with the 2.0L,second generation sky active? Been a little confused on the subject looking around on the forum.

It's a really nice exhaust, a little on the pricey side. I've never heard my car from the outside while it's going but when you gas, you'll definitely hear it on the inside. There's a nice little growl/purr when it's sitting idle. I'll upload videos of a start up/idle for you when I have time later tonight

My car is a second gem 2.0l sky active, you have to options to make it work, either cut a hole in the bumper or buy a 2.5l dual exit bumper http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06/22/9a251907ad4ec751ae379f5bca440ab2.jpg

Oh please and thank you. Really curious to see.
If you don't mind me asking, how much did the whole set up cost you at the end?

Oh :o never thought about that one.. Guess getting the exhaust and bumper would possibly cost similar to just getting the racing beat exhaust.
Do you have any audios of the exhaust by any chance??

Here's the video, I didn't want to rev any higher because my brother's working in the room right by my driveway so I didn't want to bother him on the phones. It may seem loud just because i'm right up against the exhaust on a small street so it's not nearly as loud in traffic. I ordered it from racingbeat site and with conversion/shipping and duties, it was around $820-850. I took it to Jimmy at street performance for the install and he was super quick.

Did you get a quote from nextmod? No axle back is worth $800 unless it is titanium or autoexe.

I was just there a few days ago. 800 bucks from nextmod if I recall correctly. Got quoted 700 for the Magnaflow cat back for the sky active hatch

I see. Thanks so much for posting the video though! Really helpful. Do you remember how much you revved it to? Just so I have a point of reference.

Really tempted to get this thing... But the main thing on my mind atm is the cost of it... And vs a custom made one :s since you could probably get a S.S. Cat back for the same price as this axle back. Seems like I'm getting less for the money lol.

Nextmod gave me a quote for $850 few months back so I decided not to get it, but I wanted it so badly so I ordered online.
I don't quite remember but it was fairly low rev. It was like a small little tap on the gas. One thing though, if you do end up ordering from racingbeat, email them for shipping quotes because if you just go to the checkout area, they use UPS and the lowest rate I got from it was well over $200. When I emailed them, they gave me a quote from fedex for $134 I think.

Nextmod was selling them for under $600 a few years ago when I got mine from them. Of course these were the days before the gtr tax.

Then I learned about Goodwin Racing, they are an authorized racing beat dealer. It's what was suggested to me by racing beat themselves to get around their policy of only shipping to the billing address, so that I could ship to a mailbox in the buffalo area.

I tried Good win racing too but shipping to a Canadian address was through the roof, much higher than racing beat themselves.

Cost me around $30~ in shipping for a racing beat front swaybar and matching end links from them and about a 2 hour round trip to pick it up. I imagine the exhaust wouldn't be much more.

Interesting... so when you ship stuff to Buffalo and take it back with you.. how does the boarder process work? never quite understood that part of it..

I mean.. i really dont mind the drive there.. specially if it saves me quite a lot of money LOL

Cbsa simply asks you what you bought and the value of the goods. Sometimes they leave it at that; you get lucky and youre on your way. Other times they ask that you pay HST on the "declared" amount. And depending on how long you stayed, your exemption (>24hrs: $0, 24hrs<:$200 and 48hrs<:$800) could result in nothing being paid.

Doesn't get more simple than that.

Oh :o well I guess even if I have to pay HST... Would still be cheaper than shipping. Plus I'd get a weekend trip out of it lol.

Keep in mind you'll need to put down your backseats to fit the package so if you bring anyone make sure it's only one other person!

Thanks for the heads up!

Think I might hit up a exhaust shop first though.. see what they might be able to do for me for a similar price... That or just hold off all together lol. Been having some braking issues recently.. possibility got some warpped rotors... might have to put some money into that first.. SIGH

I have the racing beat exhaust for the skyactiv. My mod thread has pictures of the install and opinions about it. Owned it for more than a year now, it gets better with time and has good subtle tones.

if you're going to go pick it up in buffalo, maybe schedule an appointment with a shop there. If you install it then drive it back, they'd never know you didn't come in with it
