that site says they are bringing in a Mazda5... a 7 passenger SUV....

Why not call it the Mazda7?

the number designations appear to be based on the size of the vehicle.

the mazda2 is smaller than the 3, the 6 is bigger than the 3...

and, it looks like the 5 slots in between the 3 and 6 and smaller than the MPV (i betcha they rename this one)

V is a roman numeral for 5.. so it looks like MPV is being replaced by mazda5..

I really want them to replace the Tribute... it\'s the one Mazda that I don\'t really like.

As for the Mazda5: Looks like it\'s the redesign fits the new corporate image perfectly.

yeah.. i know.. all i meant to say is the abbreviation jsut seemed like it should have been protege5.. anyway.. it looks like mazda5 = mpv nest-pas?

Hmm.. thats got to be one of the most pessimistic reviews I\'ve seen.. Can anyone address what the review had to say about the slow warmup & defrost? I\'m somewhat skeptical about it taking 15 minutes, especially when its not all that cold in October (review was dated Oct 17). Also has anyone been getting anywhere close to the advertised fuel consumption? I mean 12L/100km seems almost what a Jeep may drink and I know elsewhere in the forum people have mentioned the less than stellar millage of the 2.3L engine.

15 mins for warm up is quite long, my car only takes about 5 mins to have warm air to blow out.

the article didn\'t mention if the car is manual or auto, if it is auto, 12km/L is normal cause test drives by the journalist always drive too aggressive.

update: mazda5 .. after talking to Noah from Avante, I found out that mazda5 is a mazda3 sport with a 5\" longer tail and 7 person seating

it is the same height (as the 3) thus LOWER than a van such as the mpv.. it also features seating for 7 and it seems like mazda is trying to create a new niche for that car b/c it\'s is a cross b/w a wagon and a van but a little weird one.. if also has a little longer nose than the mpv and a bit sleaker/sharper looking

also.. FYI the mazda2 is coming to canada :D size will be comparable to that of the echo hatch

I love that shade of blue on the 5. If I were ever to get my 3 repainted, that would be the colour.
